IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027. The announcement, made on October 14, includes a new trailer showing the upcoming James Bond game running on Nintendo’s console and reveals a GoldenEye-inspired suit as a pre-order bonus.

The release date follows a delay announced in September, when the developer said it needed additional time to improve the Switch 2 version’s performance. Pre-orders are now open through the Nintendo Store, Amazon, and selected retailers, according to IO Interactive.

007 FIRST LIGHT REVEALS SWITCH 2 GAMEPLAY AND GOLDENEYE OUTFIT

The latest trailer offers a more substantial look at the Nintendo Switch 2 version after an earlier Nintendo Direct provided only a brief glimpse of the game. It highlights the reimagined origin story of James Bond as he begins his journey toward becoming an MI6 agent.

The newly revealed GoldenEye suit references GoldenEye 007, the classic Nintendo 64 James Bond game. The outfit is being offered as a pre-order bonus, giving longtime fans a nostalgic cosmetic option in the upcoming release.

In 007 First Light, players follow a young Bond as he enters the MI6 training program after an act of heroism. When a mission to stop a rogue agent ends in tragedy, he must work with his reluctant mentor, Greenway, to uncover a conspiracy and prevent a coup.

The game combines stealth, hand-to-hand combat, firearms, gadgets, and social deception. Players can choose different approaches to missions, whether sneaking past guards, bluffing their way through obstacles, or engaging enemies directly. Optional modifiers also let players replay missions with additional challenges.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version was previously delayed from its original planned release window to allow for further performance improvements. Its March 18, 2027 launch date now gives players a confirmed date to anticipate, although the developer has not detailed the final technical specifications for this version. More information is available through the official 007 First Light website.
