Makoto Fukami is a well-known mangaka who has been working in the industry for quite a while. There are multiple series that he has written from his initial introduction to the industry in 1999. Several of his mangas have also become very popular among the community and have been adapted into different mediums.
His most popular work of his is arguably Psycho-Pass which is based on the dystopian world of the future. Many fans have praised him for his detail in the story, and Makoto has continued his love for the art of making manga. Other notable series that he has created are The Torture Club, Ōsama-tachi no Viking, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka, and Deep Insanity: Nirvana.
His most recent work was a new manga titled Kensen Hyōkyoku, which was launched in Big Gangan in December 2021. He worked with Shinjirō on this manga. Shinjirō is another manga artist who has a 13-volume manga titled Taboo Tattoo manga that ended back in June 2017. However, it must be noted that his manga got a 12-episode anime adaptation that premiered in 2016. Shinjirō is also pretty famous for his adaptation of the light novel series Fate/Zero.

Kensen Hyōkyoku Plot
The duo of Shinjirō and Makoto Fukami came together to create the manga of Kensen Hyōkyoku. The manga itself is not very long and ran for around two years, but there are many fans who have picked it up due to the mere fact that the authors are teaming up to create something different. It was amazing when they announced the start of the manga, as not a lot of people saw this collaboration coming.
The main of Kensen Hyōkyoku initially intrigued a lot of people and encouraged them to pick up the volume to get the idea of the story. The plot revolves around a continent ruled by the violence of blades and fists where there is an absolute hegemony of the Jian kingdom.
Our protagonist is Sekka, who is the third prince of the Kingdom and has bad blood with his two elder brothers. He lives with Suiran, who is a noble hostage from the vassal country of Ren, and his childhood friend Shiraha. As the prince of the country, his days are filled with training with Karen, who is the sword master.
One day out of the blue, the Kingdom of Jian faces an attack from an enemy power, and in this situation, Karan Hyōkyoku, the courier service of the blade master Kokuyō pledges to protect the third prince of the kingdom and do whatever it takes to get him to safety. The story is one of valor and bravery. It is loved by many, and all the characters are given exceptional personalities.

Kensen Hyōkyoku Coming To An End
Kensen Hyōkyoku has been serialized for a while, and now it is coming to an end. Many fans are upset with the approaching end, but some of them are saying that it is better this way since the manga was not supposed to be a long series anyway. The series has been fun, and with the serious undertone, it has drawn serious fans of the genre to it.
It was officially announced in Square Enix‘s Big Gangan magazine that Kensen Hyōkyoku would be coming to an end in the magazine’s next issue, which is set to be released on May 25. Many readers are also excited to see how the story ends. One must remember that all good things must come to an end. There is still much time for the next issue to be released, and fans are discussing their favorite moments from the series.
If you have been following the manga for some time and having a hard time accepting the end, then it is the best time to give the series a re-read. Who knows, maybe one day there will be an anime adaptation for the same, and we all get to see the characters in motion.
