Niantic’s General Manager hinting at major feature release after Easter Event!
Recent reports have suggested that Niantic is planning a huge summer event in July that could be the debut of Pokemon Trading or Legendary Pokemon. Though there’s already been some hints for this major update to be the official release of Legendary Pokemon, John Hanke has already commented on the trading update numerous amounts of time before these reports came to surface.
Niantic’s General Manager Yoshiji Kawashima hasn’t confirmed the release of Legendary Pokemon, but did say that new features would be implemented.
“I hope you are looking forward to this huge event this summer,” he said.
“Please look forward to it. Engineers are working hard now so that new functions can be implemented.”
It’s believed that ‘Raids’ will accompany the release of Legendary Pokemon, as fans finally group together to capture the three legendary Pokemon Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres. Though we already know John Hanke has said he’s passionately working on the trading feature to be finished for release. He commented on trading saying it’ll only work with traders within your proximity.
Interestingly, Raids were referenced in early Pokemon Go promotional material, with New York players alerted that one was starting nearby for the capture of Mewtwo. This event could bring back those huge crowds of Pokemon Trainers we seen during the world-wide release of Pokemon Go.
Niantic have already confirmed that they have two special Pokemon Go updates set for launch, one that came in spring and another planned for the summer. This summers update is the one we all anticipate to be the come back of the largest mobile gaming fanbase. The only question left now is, if the legendary bird pokemon are released — When will the legendary beasts for generation 2 be released?
That’s all for now have a wonderful day!
