HoYoverse has detailed several activities arriving with Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1, giving players plenty of content to explore after the update goes live. The latest announcements introduce three major events: Potential Hypothesis: Hunting Game, Summer Waves Roll In, and a refreshed New Eridu City Fund. Together, they bring new gameplay opportunities, exclusive cosmetics, Polychromes, and upgrade materials that will be available throughout Version 3.1.
While each event focuses on different aspects of the game, they all reward players for participating in limited-time activities before their respective deadlines. Some rewards will remain permanently accessible through Ridu Chronicles, while others can only be claimed during the event period.
Potential Hypothesis: Hunting Game lets players test Agents
The Potential Hypothesis: Hunting Game event runs from the start of Version 3.1 until the version ends. Players who have unlocked Ridu Weekly in Chapter 1 of the main story can participate.
The event introduces two dedicated trial stages: Cooperative Exercise, which allows players to experience designated Agents before potential activation, and Potential Hypothesis, which showcases those Agents after activation. During these stages, squad compositions, W-Engines, and Drive Discs are fixed, ensuring every player experiences the same setup.
Completing each Potential Hypothesis stage for the first time rewards players with one-time trial completion rewards that can be claimed directly from the stage clear screen.
Summer Waves Roll In brings Lucy’s free outfit

One of Version 3.1’s headline events is Summer Waves Roll In, available until September 7, 2026. Players who reach Inter-Knot Level 20 and complete Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission can return to Fantasy Resort, where they will work alongside Sigrid, Lucy, and Remielle to prepare a bonfire celebration by operating a souvenir shop.
Completing event missions rewards players with several exclusive items, including Lucy: Princess on Holiday, an event-exclusive “Summer Blaze Eternal” namecard, Hamster Cage Passes, Polychromes, and various upgrade materials.
HoYoverse also recommends completing Main Story Season 3 Chapter 1: A Sleepwalker’s Confession before participating for the best story experience. After the limited-time event concludes, its gameplay will move to Ridu Chronicles, although exclusive event rewards will no longer be obtainable.
New Eridu City Fund refreshes premium rewards
Version 3.1 also launches a new New Eridu City Fund season, running until September 7. The Basic Plan is available to all eligible players, while the paid Growth Plan immediately grants 680 Polychromes and the exclusive Berry Party avatar. Players upgrading to the Premium Plan receive additional instant rewards, including 208 more Polychromes, menu decorations, W-Engine Microcontroller Units, Resonating Cores, Ether Batteries, and other progression materials.
By raising their City Fund Level, players can unlock even more exclusive rewards, including the “Time for Afternoon Tea” namecard and the time-limited Great Builder’s Certificate, which expires after the current City Fund season ends.
