Toei Animation announced the release of “Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure ’23~” as a part of the franchise’s 20th-anniversary project on 14 March 2023. “Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure ’23~(The Power of Hope ~ Adult Precure ‘23)” is an upcoming spin-off of the well-known anime series “Yes! Pretty Cure 5” and “Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!” of the ‘Precure franchise’.
The anime will follow the adult life of Nozomi Yumehara and other characters from both its preceding series. The franchise began with ‘Futari wa Precure’ in 2004 and has continued airing till today. The latest series of the franchise ‘Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure (Hirogaru Sky! Precure)’ started airing in February of this year.
The original “Precure” series has been produced for children of the age group of three to six years old. “Yes! Pretty Cure 5” focused on Nozomi Yumehara, a student who finds a book called ‘Dream Collet’ in the library. She then meets Coco and Nuts, who are two creatures from the ‘Palmier Kingdom’.
On meeting them, Nozomi learns that an organization called ‘Nightmares’ is destroying their world, and they request for her help in restoring things in their world. Coco and Nuts tell her that she has to complete the Dream Collet and find the 55 Pinkies to make any wish come true. In the meanwhile, the Nightmares are moving to the real world. Nozomi agrees to help Coco and Nuts, who then transforms her into the magical girl ‘Cure Dream’ and turns four fellow students into her ‘Pretty Cure team’.
“Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!” is a direct continuation of “Yes! Pretty Cure 5”. Nozomi and her team have lost their powers and have bid goodbye to their friends Coco and Nuts from Palmier Kingdom. However, they are restored as ‘Pretty Cure’ by a mysterious woman Flora who wishes them to find her in a place called Cure Rosegarden. They need the Rose Pact and the powers of the four kings of the countries that surround the Palmier Kingdome to reach there.
Their quest has a threat – an evil organization, ‘Eternal’, that wants to reach the Cure Rosegarden too. The Precure luckily find new allies that are ready to help them reach their goal. The delivery-boy Syrup, who can shapeshift into a bird and fly them anywhere they want, and Milky Rose – a mysterious and beautiful fighter who stands by them in any fight, come to their aid.
