Youngest Son of the NamGung Clan Chapter 38 will see the growth of clan members and a new growth period for the MC. The MC has not been in control of his destiny for a little while, which is a little unsettling. It makes him uninteresting and looks like someone that doesn’t have control over his destiny or life.

This feels even worse when one starts to consider that this is a regressor story with him all of the future’s knowledge. At the same time, it is true that there are too many power fantasies out there, and we could use a different genre from time to time. But this is power fantasy done wrong and has little to no use for regression.

But then again, the whole point of a genre is to indicate the kind of things one can expect in a story. And when people open this manhua, they expect a power fantasy where MC wins effortlessly. And it is on that front that the series fails; for the time being, if anything, the grounded approach to the story is something that can turn out good later.

Right now, the maid in training has more talent than MC and, thus, a better future. The stories like these don’t put much emphasis on hard work and training to overcome impossible odds; they are pretty much these days.

But then again, seeing that being special is given more value than hard work to win; it’s no wonder the MC feels lackluster. He is kind of useless in every way; it would have been better for him not to be a regressor and be a traditional protagonist. Or, it would have been even better if he had found a mystical tool that would have made him stronger in the long run.
