Larsen ended up meeting with Tumu from the Crow tribe and asked him to take him to the Golden Tiger Tribe. It seemed like Tumu was really wary of the Tigers because they were quite destructive and had a tendency to prey on beings weaker than them. That was why Larsen asked Ludia to stay back in the first place.
He knew that his encounter with a Golden Tiger Tribe member could very well go south, which would put Ludia in danger. We know that Larsen would hate to see Ludia get injured because of him, but Ludia doesn’t want to accept Larsen’s consideration and wants to become someone strong enough to accompany him.

In the previous chapter of Youngest Scion of the Mages, Larsen meets Tumu, a crow who is willing to escort him to the Golden Tiber Tribe. Larsen knows very well that the Golden Tiger Tribe is very dangerous, and its members are extremely volatile, so he asks Ludia to stay back and wait for him for her own protection.
After he leaves, Ludia thinks about all the instances where someone picked on her weakness and told her she was not fit to be with Larsen. The fact that Larsen also left her behind just solidified her belief that she was truly weak. A spark of determination to become strong ignited inside Ludia.
In his story. He had mentioned that Phoenix was very strong, and the Tribe of Fire that worshipped him was once strong enough to take over the entire continent. They only got weaker because the Phoenix kept absorbing their divine energy, and Phoenix never got directly involved in the story either.
Suddenly, Tumu spots the Golden Tiger Tribe Member nearby and runs away in fear. Larsen goes up to the woman with golden eyes and asks if they can talk, but she outright ignores him. She also gets really violent when Larsen pushes her a bit and attacks him. Larsen decides to show off and make her acknowledge his strength.
The woman is definitely very strong, but Larsen manages to overpower her by grabbing her tail. The Golden Tiger Tribe’s biggest weakness is their tails, and she quickly gives up once Larsen has her tail in his hands. She grudgingly agrees to escort Larsen to their home base.
