Fans of Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers have another reason to get excited as the anime has unveiled a new character visual featuring Gai, one of the series’ returning heroes.

The artwork was shared through the anime’s official website alongside the release of the third episode, giving fans a fresh look at the fan favorite as the story continues.

A Modern Sequel to a Classic Anime

Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers is a direct sequel to Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, the classic anime that aired in Japan from 1988 to 1989 and later became known internationally as Ronin Warriors. The new series continues the story decades after the original, bringing the legendary armored heroes back for a new generation.

The anime picks up after the events of the franchise’s final OVA, Message, expanding the world with a new conflict while honoring the legacy of the original series. Longtime fans will recognize familiar themes, characters, and the iconic Yoroigear armor.

The story follows five warriors who wear the legendary Yoroigear armor to protect humanity after the seal holding back a demonic army is broken. Their greatest challenge comes from the forces of Arago, Emperor of Doom.

New Music and Returning Cast

Cour 2 introduces a new opening theme, “Bad Idenshi” (“Bad Gene”), performed by Dannie May, along with the ending theme “Bakemon” by rock band Karanoah.

The returning voice cast includes Hiiro Ishibashi as Gai, alongside Kentarō Kumagai, Shunsuke Takeuchi, and Junya Enoki, who reprise the roles of the other armored heroes. The combination of familiar voices and new music helps maintain the spirit of the original series while giving the sequel its own identity.
