Logan Paul will appear on WWE SmackDown 21 October show. Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi vs. Damage CTRL for the Women’s Tag Team Titles and Sonya Deville vs. Liv Morgan are the two matchups that have been made official for Friday night.
Bray Wyatt returned to the blue brand in the previous edition of WWE SmackDown. The former WWE Champion gave a touching promo. Rey Mysterio was announced as the top contender for the IC title throughout other segments of the show.
Overall, it was a fantastic show that featured plenty of surprises. When SmackDown goes live on October 21st, 2022, WWE will want to maintain the momentum it has been using to build up to Crown Jewel.
Here is WWE SmackDown 21 October Preview:
Logan Paul On SmackDown
To give further depth to the ongoing Crown Jewel PLE storylines, WWE teased the next appearance of popular celebrity and the current front-runner for the WWE Universal Title, Logan Paul, during this week’s episode of Smackdown.
Logan Paul will make a debut on tonight’s edition of Smackdown before he faces Roman Reigns in the Crown Jewel main event in less than two weeks. Two weeks ago, the social media star made an appearance on the show and interacted directly with Roman Reigns and the Bloodline.
What the challenger will say is a mystery because the champion most likely won’t be on tonight’s episode. Will he boost the stakes by adding a PPV stipulation? Will he engage in physical contact with other Bloodline members?
Paul is continually battling it out in the ring while legendary Shawn Michaels teaches him new strategies as his match against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel approaches. It will take more from him to unseat WWE’s Tribal Chief from his championship reign, though, as The Bloodline will be in his way. The good news is that The Bloodline is experiencing issues within its ranks, and Paul should be eager to take advantage of these issues to gain the upper hand as he approaches the toughest test of his career.
However, things might not go too well for the YouTube sensation because The Tribal Chief might interfere in the end. Paul might be destroyed by the Undisputed Universal Champion, who would also issue a severe warning to him. This would be a fitting way to create hype for the pair’s match at Crown Jewel for the Universal Championship.
Sonya Deville vs. Liv Morgan
At the Extreme Rules PPV, Liv Morgan faced Ronda Rousey and put her Smackdown Women’s title on the line. Despite her best attempts, Rousey was able to win the title by using a highly unusual submission move. Since then, Morgan’s image has taken a dark turn as a result of her odd behavior.
Last week, Sonya Deville was punched through a table in the backstage area for making fun of Morgan’s loss to Rousey from Extreme Rules. When Morgan takes on Deville in a singles match this week, she will use her newly discovered aggression. The former champion’s mental stability is in doubt, and during this encounter against Deville on Smackdown, she might just seal her heel turn.
Fans can expect Liv to easily defeat the former authority figure and secure a victory. Expect the former Champion to assault Deville after the match, though, considering how Morgan seems to have embraced her darker side since her defeat at Extreme Rules. After their match, the creative team might have Morgan destroy Sonya to tease a potential heel turn.
Shotzi and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Damage CTRL
Raquel Rodriguez has been the target of number games by Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY for weeks. Not to mention that Raquel and Aliyah were the teams from whom they dethroned them last month.
Shotzi helped Raquel a few weeks ago when Aliyah was unable to help, and the two have since acted as allies. The dynamic duo finally get a chance to compete in a title match when they challenged Kai and SKY today, with the tag titles on the line.
Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky of Damage Control, the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, will defend their championships against Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi tonight. In recent weeks, the challengers have grown closer as a group and have taken the lead in the fight against Bayley’s stable.
It makes sense that Damage Control would keep control of this situation as their reign has just begun. Rodriguez and Shotzi, though, have been making progress, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them win the gold. We’ll see who wins in the end.
Bray Wyatt
Last week’s Smackdown show ended with an emotional promo from Bray Wyatt that focused on his mental health since being freed from prison last year and his relationship with the WWE fanbase who have been demanding his return. Before the show finished, there was a segment where the mysterious figure from his return at Extreme Rules left an unsettling message for Wyatt and the WWE.
Numerous theories on who or what the man in the mask depicts have already been put forth. Some have theorized that this could represent a potential rival for Wyatt, while others have theorized that this is simply the ghost of Wyatt’s past haunting him.
It’s probably a good idea for the corporation to space out Wyatt’s visits and stop having him make weekly appearances. But one has to wonder in what capacity he would appear tonight. Would he make another stirring promo? Or will we keep exploring the spooky Wyatt universe? Fans can anticipate WWE to keep this plotline suspenseful. In the upcoming episode, the creative team might have the masked man torture Wyatt once more.
Liv Morgan In Wyatt 6
Bray Wyatt is back in the WWE, and despite the fact that his emotional comeback promo left us with more queries than answers, it seems likely that he will experience split personalities there once more.
Wyatt has a record in the WWE of acting as a cult leader, whether it be serving as the supreme leader of a large family or controlling the thoughts of a single victim like Alexa Bliss. In light of this, there are some promising indications that Liv Morgan could become one of his newest devotees.
During her defeat by Ronda Rousey at Extreme Rules, the former SmackDown women’s champion laughed as she fell unconscious. Since then, she has acted strangely angrily toward Sonya Deville backstage, as if she has gone off the deep end.
Tonight’s singles contest pits Morgan against Deville. According to the WWE website, Morgan will highlight her “newfound manic aggressiveness” and continue her “dark descent” in this encounter. They conclude by saying that “Morgan’s mentality has come into question” as a result of her strange recent smiling.
Those quoted words are exactly the kind of language I would anticipate coming from someone who is open to Wyatt’s influence and authority. It would certainly take some time for Bray to gain popularity on television, but it wouldn’t be at all unexpected if his story eventually became tied to Morgan’s “dark descent.”
Omos And Strowman
Braun Strowman was interrupted by Omos and MVP during the last WWE SmackDown broadcast following his 2-on-1 handicap bout against two enhancement talents.
Strowman was warned by MVP that he hadn’t faced a monster like Omos in his verbal barrages. He continued on RAW by saying that The Colossus will appear in a future episode of the blue brand to face The Monster of All Monsters.
The creative team might have Omos attack Strowman to prove a point. Given that the two men are allegedly planning to square off at Crown Jewel, this may result in WWE scheduling the match for the event.
