The October 7, 2022, episode of WWE SmackDown will serve as both the penultimate episode for Extreme Rules and the first episode of the next season of SmackDown on FOX. Roman Reigns, the undisputed WWE Universal Champion, and Logan Paul, his opponent for the Crown Jewel, are going to face off this Friday. Solo Sikoa will compete against Ricochet in a singles match. In the meanwhile, Sheamus will have another opportunity to win Gunther’s Intercontinental championship.
Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa defeated Ricochet and Madcap Moss in a big way in the previous SmackDown episode. Johnny Gargano, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens beat Alpha Academy and Austin Theory in the main event of the show.
The final SmackDown before Extreme Rules PPV will be televised live from the DCU in Worcester, Massachusetts, and fans can expect WWE to maintain its current momentum.
WWE SmackDown 7 October Preview
You will be seeing 3 big matches for the Extreme Rules PPV from SmackDown’s side. Drew McIntyre will fight Kross in a strap match. Liv Morgan will be defending her Women’s title against Ronda in an Extreme Rules match. The Brawling Brutes and Imperium square off in a Donny Brookhouse battle. On Smackdown’s October 7 show, how will these three storylines be continued?
Solo Sikoa vs Ricochet
In the backstage area of SmackDown on September 23, Solo Sikoa attacked Ricochet and Madcap Moss. Last week, Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa joined forces to defeat Madcap Moss and Ricochet’ team. However, it appears that Ricochet is not yet ready to give up because he will compete against Solo Sikoa in a match on this week’s SmackDown. Will Ricochet eventually defeat the newest Bloodline member, or will Sikoa score another victory?
However, given that Sami Zayn’s possible interference seems likely, things may not turn out very well for the high flyer. If WWE wanted to help Sikoa win, they might have the Honorary Uce show up during the fight. The duo’s team spirit has been one of the best parts of The Bloodline, and this would be a further step in the right direction.
Another thing to observe is that Ricochet appears to be having trouble balancing the blue brand. It’s high time WWE revamped his character because the 50/50 booking hasn’t improved his situation either.
Sheamus vs. Gunther
At Clash at the Castle, Sheamus and Gunther had a brutal classic match that is undoubtedly WWE’s match of the year. However, the rivalry carried on. Their respective groups, The Brawling Brutes, and Imperium continued to feud after that. Now, these two guys are prepared to start it again, as Sheamus will have another chance to become the Grand Slam champion and fight Gunther in a singles match.
Moreover, this match will occur the day before The Brawling Brutes take on Imperium at WWE Extreme Rules in a traditional Donnybrook match. Someone will enter Extreme Rules with an advantage. But sooner rather than later, this championship match will likely go downhill.
WWE might have The Brawling Brutes and Imperium interrupt the fight. Both sides could face off against one another, which might result in a massive brawl. This could result in the whole locker room being involved in resolving this conflict. This would be an appropriate teaser for the Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match against The Brawling Brutes at Extreme Rules.
Max Dupri
Max Dupri walked out on Maximum Male Models during the last episode of SmackDown before attacking Mansoor. The former NXT superstar seemed to be disgusted by his team’s indifference and lack of effort.
Max is reportedly labeled as the LA Knights on the internal lineup following the recent events. So it won’t be shocking if Dupri makes a surprise appearance in the upcoming blue brand episode donning his NXT persona. The creative team might have him come back and destroy Mansoor and Mace by himself. This would undoubtedly give him additional momentum in the back.
Roman Reigns And Logan Paul Comes Face To Face
Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief, will face off against Logan Paul at this week’s WWE SmackDown. Logan Paul said he could defeat Roman Reigns after Reigns left his podcast after his appearance. This ultimately resulted in a quarrel between Logan Paul and Paul Heyman. Then, Triple H conducted a press conference where he revealed that the main event of WWE Crown Jewel would feature Roman Reigns and Logan Paul.
Following the announcement of this match, these two will now make their first appearance in the same ring. What will Paul need to hear from The Head of the Table? Will Paul bring any kind of support to fight the Bloodline?
Roman Would Destroy Logan
Roman Reigns is all about honor, and he expects acknowledgment from both wrestlers and fans. He naturally feels that Logan Paul is insulting him. The Tribal Chief is probably offended by the idea that Logan Paul is challenging Roman Reigns after just two matches. He is at the top of his business and thinks that only the best should try to take his throne.
Roman Reigns may use violence straight away when the two stars clash on WWE SmackDown because of Paul’s recent actions. If he does, he’ll probably knock him with a spear or a Superman punch. Reigns is a big-match fighter who is aware that a match against The Maverick will bring him a big paycheck. He could, therefore, probably talk without risking their future match.
Logan Could Get Lucky
On paper, the match between Logan Paul and Roman Reigns doesn’t make much sense. Paul has competed in two pro wrestling matches, whereas The Tribal Chief is one of the most brilliant stars in the history of the industry.
However, The Maverick has proven a lot of potential in his two matches. Above all, he makes a valid argument when he underlines that, despite being the underdog, all it takes to create history is one good hit.
On WWE SmackDown, when the two are facing up in the ring, Paul might hit the lucky punch that knocks the champion to the ground. This will clearly show the fact that anything is possible when the two clash at Crown Jewel. The segment might convince some of the many fans who are doubtful about the possibility of the YouTuber’s win.
Promo Battle Between The Two
Perhaps there won’t be any physicality at all when Logan and Roman face off on WWE SmackDown. While pro wrestling frequently includes violence, there are occasions when the stars choose to convey the story instead.
Roman Reigns has no difficulty destroying opponents when talking on the microphone. Early in his career, he may have had trouble engaging in a verbal fight, but more lately, he has developed into one of the top talkers in the business.
Paul might be new to WWE promos, but the newcomer is a master of insults. When the two face each other, they may trade some heated insults. They will, however, make their objectives about Crown Jewel absolutely clear.
Bloodline Would Crush Logan Paul
Roman Reigns rarely travels alone. The Bloodline members are likely to be there when Roman Reigns meets with Logan on Friday night because Paul Heyman, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Sikoa all appear to be in good health.
It is evident that the idea of Logan Paul going up against The Bloodline as a whole is bad news. On WWE SmackDown, the faction might end up viciously attacking The Maverick. If that’s the case, the YouTuber might ask his brother Jake Paul for help, laying the groundwork for the latter’s involvement in Crown Jewel.
Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross
This next Saturday at Extreme Rules, there will be a Strap Match between Drew McIntyre and Kross. The Scottish Warrior will likely be strong in the forthcoming episode, given that he is the clear favorite to win the fight. After weeks of torture, the WWE could have Drew finally gain an advantage over his competitor on Friday night. With his promise to destroy Kross in their Strap match at Extreme Rules, the former WWE Champion might destroy the opponent.
