Professional wrestling has once again become the talk of the town, fascinating audiences with its amazing storylines and thrilling matches. WWE, in particular, has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity, consistently selling out arenas in every city they visit.
On May 17, the anticipation rises as WWE Smackdown makes its way to Jacksonville, marking the return of WWE events to a city that hasn’t seen them in quite some time.
Wrestling Fever
Grayson Waller, a prominent figure in WWE, shared his excitement about bringing “good wrestling” back to Jacksonville during an interview on Going Ringside.
His comment seemed to take a subtle jab at AEW, a rival wrestling promotion that hosted numerous events in Jacksonville during the pandemic. Notably, Jacksonville is also home to the Jaguars, a football team owned by the Khan Family, who are affiliated with AEW.
Responding to Waller’s comment, Dax Harwood, one half of the acclaimed tag team FTR in AEW, fired back with an intriguing statement. Harwood suggested that if WWE aimed to bring back “good wrestling” to Jacksonville, they might need to keep Waller out of action during the show.
The exchange between Waller and Harwood adds fuel to the fiery rivalry between WWE and AEW, both vying for dominance in the wrestling world.
As WWE continues to increase its product and expand its reach, fans eagerly anticipate the electrifying matches and fascinating storylines that have defined the resurgence of professional wrestling.
