WWE RAW on October 3, 2022, will be the final edition before the WWE Extreme Rules PPV and will feature some interesting matches apart from Bayley and Bianca Beliar’s contract signing segment.
Last week, Candice LeRae made a comeback to WWE. This week, she will compete in a singles battle against Dakota Kai. Otis will face Johnny Gargano, while Braun Strauman will head to the red brand to face Chad Gable. It was also revealed that AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio would face Judgment Day.
Edge made his comeback to the company on the previous RAW show, challenging Finn Balor to an “I Quit” stipulation match at Extreme Rules. In another match on the show, Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens won over The Alpha Academy. In all honesty, Triple H and the creative team did an excellent job of marketing Extreme Rules, and we hope that continues in this week’s Raw.
Here is WWE Raw 3 October Preview:
Braun Strowman vs Chad Gable
On the 23 September episode of SmackDown, Braun Strowman defeated Otis in The Monster Among Men’s first match since joining WWE back.
When Chad Gable was trash-talking Strowman on RAW last week, he got a call telling him he would see him the upcoming week. It is now official that Braun Strowman will compete against Chad Gable in what will undoubtedly be a squash match. Additionally interesting is the fact that this is Strowman’s first RAW match in more than 17 months. He won his final match on the Red brand against Drew McIntyre on April 26, 2021.
In a video that Gable shared on Twitter, he discussed his relationship with Strowman and also how he knows everything there is to know about him. Will Gable’s knowledge spark a ruckus? Will Chad Gable, the most underappreciated superstar in the WWE, be able to escape the destruction’s hold? After using such harsh comments last week, has his fate already been decided?
Bianca Belair And Bayley’s Contract Signing
Half a year has passed since Bianca Belair won the RAW Women’s Championship. She lasted a lot longer than she did back in 2021 when her SmackDown Women’s championship reign ended in 4 months, but in reality, was finished in just 26 seconds by Becky Lynch.
Due to an injury, Bayley was unable to compete against Belair for the title in 2021. Therefore she still has an unfinished match with her. Additionally, Bayley pinned Belair at Clash at the Castle, becoming the first female to do it this year.
At last week’s Raw, a challenge was imposed for their title matchup at Extreme Rules to become a ladder match, and soon it was made official. The two will sign contracts prior to the WWE’s first-ever female singles ladder match. All signs point to Bayley ending Belair’s run as champion, and this may be The EST Of WWE’s final RAW with the championship.
Johnny Gargano vs Otis
Last week, Theory tried to distract Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens from their match with the Alpha Academy on SmackDown, but he was unsuccessful. They even made an unexpected cameo this week on SmackDown to help Drew McIntyre fight the group. After the match, Theory urged Otis to make amends and get revenge by competing against Gargano in a singles match.
Therefore, Gargano will compete in a singles match against the “tree-trunk” Otis. Will Gargano suffer the Dozer’s anger? Will Johnny Wrestling be able to beat the odds as he has in the past, or will Otis prove to be a stronger opponent?
The evening might not go well for Johnny Wrestling, though, as Austin Theory’s possible interference is likely. Given how their relationship developed on the red brand, the two old rivals seem destined for an Extreme Rules match. The creative team could just have Mr. MITB cost Gargano his singles match against Otis on Monday.
This thing could result in WWE officially scheduling the duo in a matchup for the Extreme Rules PPV. Don’t be shocked if the company decides to add some spice by having Theory risk his Money in the Bank contract for the fude.
Candice LeRae vs Dakota Kai
Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano’s wife, returned to the WWE last week on RAW. She made her RAW debut and defeated Nikki A.S.H., signaling the end of her tenure in NXT.
Soon after the match, she was seen interacting with Damage CTRL in a backstage session, who she openly criticized by saying she wished Belair destroyed Bayley at Extreme Rules PPV. Dakota Kai vs. Candice LeRae match was announced officially for RAW this week. Will she have the strength to defeat one member of the women’s tag team champions?
Even if Bayley and IYO SKY could potentially interfere, LeRae is expected to overcome the odds and defeat her opponent on Monday night. Kai could, however, band together with her teammates to attack the most recent returnee. Asuka, Bianca Belair, and Alexa Bliss might then appear at ringside to make the save as a result of this.
The Judgment Day vs Rey Mysterio & AJ Styles
Last week, AJ Styles turned down The Judgment Day’s offer once more, and he later faced Sami Zayn. Zayn was able to defeat AJ Styles with the help of Solo Sikoa.
Finn Balor added salt to the wound by saying that if The Judgment Day had been at ringside, the loss wouldn’t have occurred. Balor attempted to officially recruit Styles by putting up the “too sweet” sign, but The Phenomenal One responded by giving him the middle finger.
This resulted in a beating, and even though Finn Balor and Edge will be facing off at Extreme Rules, they have a significant challenge ahead of them on RAW this week. The team of AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio will be their opponents. Will The Judgment Day gain a significant victory prior to Extreme Rules 2022?
Fans can count on Edge to appear at ringside, though, in order to balance the numbers. WWE can have The Rated-R Superstar handle any outside interruptions, giving Rey & Styles a decisive victory over The Judgment Day. Also, on October 8, Edge and Finn Balor will compete in an “I Quit” match. Therefore, the Hall of Famer would have a significant psychological advantage over his opponent.
Seth Rollins And Matt Riddle Face Off
When Riddle and Seth Rollins finally meet in person tonight, they must abide by one straightforward rule: they cannot touch. Anybody who violates the rule will be disqualified from their Fight Pit match. It won’t be simple to abide by this basic rule because Rollins and Riddle both want to rip each other to shreds.
It would seem appropriate for the heel to build a trap for the babyface since this is the penultimate show of Raw before Extreme Rules. Even though Seth might not be allowed to interact with Matt, there are plenty of potential stars on the list who could carry out the dirty work for him. Could it be the Theory? Why not Veer? T-BAR? Every single 24-hour title jobber?
Maybe I’m thinking too much about this. Perhaps the best course of action in this situation is for both men to go out there and simply sell this match with a hot exchange of words rather than throwing some low or mid-card stars to the mix. After all, isn’t that what professional wrestling is all about?
Daniel Cormier As Special Guest Referee
According to a recent source, Daniel Cormier will serve as the Special Guest Referee for Seth Rollins and Riddle’s Fight Pit Match at Extreme Rules. As additional information about Cormier’s involvement is expected to surface, fans should expect WWE to bring him on for the upcoming RAW.
Although it was previously believed that Ken Shamrock, an Attitude Era Legend, would serve as the special guest enforcer in the high-profile match on October 8, recent news has disproved that idea. Moreover, Daniel Cormier is well-known in the MMA world. It would be interesting to watch how the UFC icon, who has received numerous honors, would handle Extreme Rules.
