Summary of WWE Backlash and Winners:
The first event was the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. It was a tremendous hard-fought fight between the two participants. It ultimately ended with Bianca Belair defeating Iyo Sky and winning the championship, making Bianca the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion. The match set a great inspiration and testament to the incredible talent of women wrestlers in WWE. It showcased that women wrestlers are very much powerful and are not underrated.
The second event was a match between Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Omos. The match started with Omo’s domination of Rollins, but Rollins managed to take control and won by pinning Omos down. Although the outcome was expected, Omos held on his own and put up a good fight by not going down quickly.
Next, in The Triple Threat Match, Austin Theory gave a fantastic performance by very quickly defeating Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed and retaining the WWE United States Championship.
After that, Rhea Ripley dominated the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Her opponent Zelina Vega, a Puerto Rican, gave her a tough competition. Ripley ended the match using her Ripley finisher and thereby successfully retaining the championship title. Vega received a standing ovation from her hometown audience for her impressive fight.
The Street fight between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest was a huge hit. Bad Bunny is a grammy winning rapper from Peuro Rica. Initially, he was thought to host the event, but later it was announced that he was to fight against Damian Priest.
When Preist’s Judgement Day teammates entered the ring to help Preist, Former Peurto rican wrestlers Cartilo and Savio Vega made a surprise return, and they threw Preist’s teammates out of the ring together. With this, Bad Bunny bounced back and defeated Priest with his signature Bunny destroyer move leading him to win the match. The match was filled with great action and an excellent performance by Bad Bunny. The crowd was very enthusiastic and showed appreciation through the joyous celebration of his victory.
The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso) won the Six-Man Tag Team Match against Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn. The fans were a little disappointed with the way the match went. But anyways it was a good and thrilling match.
The final main and most awaited match was between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes. The match did not meet expectations, as Rhodes emerged as the victor in what was deemed an underwhelming win. The WWE had heavily invested in Rhodes winning the match. It was speculated that WWE wanted Rhodes to win to continue his story of redemption. Since Lesnar was a formidable opponent, it was thought that he might defeat Rhodes.
Overall, WWE Backlash was an exciting event, with some matches exceeding expectations while others falling short.
