The highly acclaimed K-drama “Signal” is set to return for Season 2. On Thursday, March 14, 2024, writer Kim Eun-Hee’s agency officially announced the news, stating,
“Writer Kim Eun-Hee is currently preparing the script for Season 2 of Signal.”
The series revolves around a team of detectives who utilize a radio to crack cold cases, delving into the mysteries of the past.
“Signal” garnered widespread acclaim thanks to its stellar cast, which includes Lee Je-Hoon, Kim Hye-Soo, and Cho Jin-Woong in leading roles.
Viewers were captivated by the series’ unique concept and gripping storytelling, leading to high anticipation for the upcoming second season.
The highly successful tvN K-drama “Signal” is set to receive a sequel. Writer Kim Eun-Hee and B.A. Entertainment CEO Jang Won-Seok confirmed that the hit series is officially in production.
While participating in an event in Rome, the duo discussed the rise of Korean content, with Jang Won-Seok stating,
“We are preparing Season 2 of the drama Signal together with writer Kim Eun-Hee.”
Writer Kim Eun-Hee had previously hinted at a second season for Signal while promoting the 2021 Netflix drama Kingdom: Ashin of the North.
She disclosed that numerous storylines remained unexplored after the first season of Signal and expressed her desire to create a second season, stating,
“I also have the desire and will to make Signal Season 2 in some way. No matter what, I want to show it to you before I retire.”
The first season of Signal, which aired in 2016, garnered immense popularity among viewers for its captivating storyline and well-developed characters. It achieved a peak viewership rating of 12.5%.
While production for Signal Season 2 has been confirmed, details regarding the cast lineup remain undisclosed. It remains uncertain whether the original cast will return for the second season.
