Wistoria’s Wand and Sword, AKA Tsue To Tsurugi No Wistoria, takes place in a world ruled by magic. However, our protagonist, Will Serholt, has no magical power. He can’t even use even the most basic of spells and, therefore, is ridiculed by his peers, especially by Theon Ulster, who always seems to have a bone to pick with Serholt. Even his teacher, Edward Serfens, gives him a hard time.
His only solace at the Rigarden Magic Academy is Collette Rowal and his Magic Biology Teacher, Ms. Wakner. Collette comes to his rescue when other kids are being mean to him. Even though he is faced with such circumstances, he does not lose his motivation.
He had a friend, Elfaria, while he was young. They had plans to rise to the top of the magical world together. Elfaria was successful in this endeavor.
Will, on the other hand, has no means of matching her abilities. So he is taking the longer route. But he is certain that he will reach her one way or the other. We come to find out that Will makes up for the credits he cants attain from practical exams by slaying beasts in the Dungeon.
He exchanges the corpse of the monster in exchange for credits. That is where Ms. Wakner comes in. She helps him on occasion.
Even though his magic is lacking, his sword skills are beyond exceptional. Ms. Wakner classifies him as the only Warrior in a world of Mages. Since Will is low on credits for his Magic Biology Class, he goes back to the Dungeon with some guidance from Ms. Wakner to find a beast that will help him reach the credit quite perfectly. However, Theon Ulser overhears and plans to sabotage him.
He goes into the Dungeon before him so that he can kill the beast before him. Causing Will to have a shortage of credits which in turn would mean he would have to leave the school. However, they went in without permission and with no preparation whatsoever. Edward Serfens informs Ms. Wakner about the missing students and how they went into the Dungeon alone. He asks her to find them quickly.
After knowing that they are near Will, Ms. Wakner tells Serfens to calm down as the safest place in the Dungeon right now is to be near Will. Serfens is outraged at this and asks her how someone with no magical power amounts to anything in this world. Then she uses her Crystal Ball to show him. We see Will fighting a monster above his power range and defeating it with minimal effort, shocking Serfens.
Wistoria’s Wand and Sword Chapter 26 Recap – What Is The Story So Far?
In the last chapters, we saw Will fighting the Notorious Devende. A monster is so fearsome that it is found only in the deepest parts of the Dungeon. A unique species that has strength exceeding a Grand Duke. Will was barely keeping up with its speed.
Even though he is able to block its slashes, the sheer strength is enough to push him off the ground. It’s a monster that has even defeated members of the Magia Wende.
We learn that it took the combined effort of 50 people to push this monster through the gate. When Donan and his dwarves came to help him, the monster did something no one saw coming. It extended its core out into the open. They come to learn that it is a unique skill of the Devende. It’s absorbing the mafic elements of other monsters to make itself stronger. They are unable to do anything.
They have no choice but to watch this monster evolve into something truly horrifying. Will thinks to himself that only the flaming sword would have any chance of defeating him. Before he could think any further, the monster attacked. Rosti lost an arm to the beast. Furthermore, he sacrificed himself so that Will would get a chance to retreat. Ms. Wakner came at the last second and saved him.
They are now traveling on Dragon back. Will is clearly distraught. He blamed himself for the countless deaths that happened. He blames himself got not being strong enough or not being able to use magic. Ms. Wakner tries to snap him out of this depressing hole he has dug for himself. She assures him that living to fight another day is better than dying today. But they are attacked by enemies mid-flight.
Then we see Will’s cat approach Collette. She sees a bloodstain on him, but it’s not of the cat. She wonders if it belongs to “that person.” She does not have time to think. She asks the cat to take her to Will. The enemies fire a signal toward the center of the city, and the now-evolved Devende follows it. Everyone is heading toward the center of town. They must destroy the Devende at all costs.
Elfaria is also coming to battle this beast. This certainly is a hands-on-deck situation. But judging from Devende’s strength level, even all the hands might not be enough. Towards the end, we saw that Theon had returned.
H has returned with the sword. He asks for a status report. He does not care about the Devende yet, and he might just walk right into its path. The sword is now here. All that’s missing now is Will.
Wistoria’s Wand and Sword Chapter 27 Spoilers – What To Expect From The Upcoming Chapter?
Wistoria’s Wand and Sword Chapter 27 is going to be a crucial one in the Manga. We saw a lot of our strongest people getting attacked and defeated in the last chapter. We know that Donan and his dwarves have all been killed. Rosti sacrificed his life to save Will. Will escaped with his life barely intact. Now the guilt of losing Rosti has sent him on a downward spiral of self-loathing and misery.
On top of that, they were attacked mid-flight by a very strong enemy. Their fate is unknown. It will take a lot to break Will out of this trance. Collette is on her way to him. She should be able to help him get over Rosti’s Death. He has to remember not to let his sacrifice be in vain. The Devende is heading toward the middle of the city, wreaking havoc along its path. Then returned with the sword.
However, without a will, there isn’t much they can do about the situation. Theon should be able to hold his for some time against the Devende. The monster is capable of defeating even the Magia Wende, so it’s questionable at best. EvenElfaria is joining the fight.
We lost a lot of good people in the last couple of episodes. They must take care of the Devende here and now, or else the no of bodies will just keep rising.
