Winter 2024 is finished, but we shouldn’t forget the anime that came out then. Some of the new anime were good, but what’s even more exciting is that some of them are getting second seasons!
Quality of some of the newest anime is one thing, but we shouldn’t forget that several anime from the Winter 2024 season are getting second seasons.
Sometimes it’s not clear if it’s a second season or just the second part of a longer series airing later. But either way, some anime still have more to offer.
1) Blue Exorcist
After a seven-year break, Blue Exorcist made its comeback with its third season in the winter 2024 anime lineup. This time around, the anime is produced by Studio VOLN instead of A-1 Pictures.
Season three follows Rin and his friends as they clash with the Illuminati, a sinister organization led by Lucifer. Their battle uncovers many hidden truths about Rin and his companions.
Blue Exorcist season 3 brought much joy to fans, and the good news doesn’t stop there. After season 3 concluded, it was revealed that a fourth season titled Blue Exorcist: At the End of the Snow is on its way.
Unlike previous seasons that made fans wait for years, season 4 is set to premiere in October 2024. This marks the first time there hasn’t been a lengthy hiatus between seasons, which is bound to keep the excitement going strong for Blue Exorcist.
2) Solo Leveling
In A-1 Pictures’ Solo Leveling, the story follows a decade after the emergence of gates to dungeon-like dimensions filled with monsters worldwide.
People who awaken supernatural abilities become Hunters to challenge these gates for profit and to safeguard the innocent.
Among them is Sung Jinwoo, the weakest Hunter with an E-Rank status. However, a near-death experience grants Jinwoo a new power resembling that of a video game.
He decides to utilize this power to gradually grow stronger than everyone else, aiming to support his family and find a sense of self-worth.
Solo Leveling was the standout anime of the winter 2024 season, thanks to its stunning animation and direction. Fans will be pleased to know that there’s more to come.
After the first season concluded, it was announced that Solo Leveling would be getting a second season titled Solo Leveling: Arise from the Shadow.
While a specific premiere date hasn’t been revealed yet, given the success of the first season, fans can expect season 2 to be even more thrilling to watch.
Considering how Solo Leveling already set itself apart from the other winter 2024 anime, that’s saying a lot.
3) Chained Soldier
In Seven Arcs’ Chained Soldier, a matriarchal society has arisen because only women can wield the superpowers necessary to combat the monstrous Shuuki in Mato.
When Yuuki Wakura finds himself in Mato during a battle with the Demon Defense Force, Captain Kyouka Uzen uses her power to transform him into her monstrous slave.
From then on, any member of the Demon Defense Force can control Yuuki during combat, and he must be compensated with a sexual favor afterward.
Chained Soldier’s bold and risqué approach made it a standout hit in the winter 2024 season, and its journey isn’t over yet.
Following the conclusion of season 1, it was confirmed that Chained Soldier would be returning for a second season.
However, they haven’t provided a specific premiere date yet. Despite its popularity, the series faced criticism for its uneven animation quality and heavy censorship.

4) Tales Of Wedding Ring
Tales of Wedding Rings starts with Satou wanting to confess his feelings to his best friend, Hime. But before he can, they both get whisked away to a fantasy world.
Turns out, this world is where Hime truly belongs, as she’s a princess there. She picks Satou to be the Ring King, the hero who has to save her world from the Abyss King.
But there’s a catch they both have to marry not just each other, but also four other princesses. This doesn’t sit well with them at all.
Tales of Wedding Rings didn’t get as much attention during its first run, but fans can look forward to more in the future. After season 1 ended, they announced a second season.
They’ve already revealed that Miyu Tomita will play Morion. We don’t know when it’ll come out yet, so it might not even be in 2024. But when it does, it’s sure to deliver the same harem fantasy action that fans loved in the first season.
5) Sasaki And Peeps
In Silver Link’s Sasaki and Peeps, we follow Sasaki, an office worker buried in work. Seeking companionship, he adopts a bird named Peeps.
But Peeps isn’t just any bird turns out, he’s the reincarnation of a great star sage! Peeps grants Sasaki the power to travel between their world and Peeps’ home.
With this new ability, Sasaki decides to kick off an interdimensional trading business. But their innocent venture quickly entangles them with all sorts of strange groups, like magical girls, a psychic police force, and participants in a mysterious death game.
Sasaki and Peeps became known for its dedication to being outrageously absurd, and it’s not slowing down yet. Right after season 1 finished, they revealed there would be a second season.
But they haven’t said when it’ll come out. However, there’s a special event happening on July 6, where they’ll likely spill the beans about season 2.
6) Ishura
In Passione and Sanzigen’s Ishura, the story follows after the death of the demon king, but nobody knows who actually killed him.
With the demon king gone, various powerful beings called Shura, who could have been responsible for his demise, start asserting their dominance in the land.
They all vie for the title of the True Hero, leading to fierce competition among them. Ishura boasts of being a no-nonsense action-packed adventure all the way through, and its fans can look forward to more excitement.
Following the conclusion of the first season, it was announced that Ishura is getting a second season. The anime’s staff even revealed a new visual featuring Kuro the Cautious, a key character in season 2.
While we don’t have a specific premiere date yet, one thing’s for sure: season 2 will deliver the same thrilling action that fans loved in season 1.
7) ‘Tis Time For “Torture”, Princess
In Studio Pine Jam’s ‘Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess, the story begins with the Princess getting captured by the demonic Hellhorde. They plan to torture her for information about humanity’s weaknesses.
However, instead of resorting to physical torture, the Hellhorde decides to torment the Princess by tempting her with delicious food and fun activities.
Eventually, the Princess gives in to the temptation and spends the rest of the day enjoying these activities with her newfound friends.
‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess turned out to be a surprisingly heartwarming series, and fans can look forward to more of it in the future.
After the first season concluded, it was revealed that the anime would be getting a second season. Like many others, the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet.
The show’s lighthearted and playful storyline, along with some impressive animation, made it stand out in the winter 2024 season. Fans can expect the second season to be just as enjoyable.
8) Harimaware! Koinu
Harimaware! Koinu, from Studio Opera House, is a short anime. Each episode is only about four minutes long. It’s about Koinu, a serious dog who finds out his company went bankrupt.
He needs a job to support himself. So, he starts putting dog stickers all around the city. Even though he doesn’t get why, he’s determined to do his best at this new job.
Harimaware! Koinu targeted small children, unlike many other anime aimed at older viewers. And it’s been successful! After its first season ended, they announced a second season premiering in July 2024.
Although they haven’t given a specific date yet. Interestingly, this series wasn’t picked up by any streaming services initially. But with a second season on the way, that might change soon.
