The anime adaptation of Black Clover was produced by Pierrot studios and aired from October 2017 to March 2021 in Japan.
Asta’s Journey
Black Clover follows the story of Asta, a young orphan boy. He is left in an orphanage and grows up there along with Yuno, another orphan. In this world, everyone is born with the capacity to use ‘Mana’ in the form of magical power. But Asta, unfortunately, does not have any. Because of this, Asta focuses more on gaining physical prowess. Whereas, Yuno was born with immense magical power with which he can control the wind. The two boys develop a friendly rivalry, and both want to become the Wizard King.
Yuno gets a legendary four-leaf grimoire held by the kingdom’s first Wizard King. The four-leaf grimoire is very rare, possessed by only the strongest of mages. Asta, even without any magical powers, somehow obtains a mysterious five-leaf grimoire. This grimoire contains elf swords and a bodiless member of the Devil race who utilizes rare anti-magic. After this, the two boys each join a Magic Knight squad to fulfill their dreams.
Asta joins the Black Bulls under the leadership of Yami Sukehiro. While Yuno joins the Golden Dawn. Asta meets Noelle in the Black Bulls as she also joins the group. They go on various magical adventures while also contending with Eye of the Midnight Sun, an extremist group. As the series goes on, Asta and Yuno will learn more about the devils in play behind these extremist groups.
Who Is Noelle Silva?
Noelle Silva is the second daughter of the Clover Kingdom’s royal family House Silva and hence, a noblewoman. She is also a 3rd Class Junior Magic Knight of the Black Bulls and Royal Knights squads. She is a 15-year-old girl with long, silver-colored hair, which is usually tied in pigtails, and pink eyes. Noelle always has her hair parted in the middle like that, with some loose bangs adorning her forehead.
The spirit of water, Undine, serves Noelle. Her magic abilities let her generate and control water. However, she lacked control over her powers in the beginning, to the point of being viewed as a failure by her family. But she did not give up and continued training hard.
Since she was born into a noble family, she is a bit arrogant and vain at first. She even denied Asta’s act of friendship while saying that she hadn’t given him permission to talk to her. Noelle also has an inferiority complex as her family rejected her because she lacked control over her magic. She felt inferior to her more accomplished siblings. In order to prove them wrong, she often over-exerts herself during training.
Asta often helps her out, and she slowly comes out of the shell of her previous life. Even though her personality changes, Noelle’s pride does always let her be honest. And the biggest example of this is her feelings for Asta. She loves him; however, she tries to deny those feelings.
Will Asta And Noelle End Up Together?
When Black Clover begins, both Asta and Noelle are just teenagers. Asta has not been in any romantic relations so far. The only time he does mention the word ‘marry’ is when he is asking out Sister Lily. Actually, he frequently asks her to marry him, but she denies him every time as she is a sister of the church.
Noelle, on the other hand, would most likely be ready to marry Asta. These two grew up in different places, with opposite family environments and mindsets. Noelle is guarded, proud, and quite arrogant when she first meets Asta. But she soon accepts his friendship and kindness. However, although Noelle has feelings for him, their relationship dynamic won’t change any time soon. Asta only partially got to know of Noelle’s feelings towards him after defeating the Eye of the Midnight Sun. He still does not know the exact nature of her love.
