Excitement mounts as tvN discloses character teasers for the upcoming drama “Midnight Romance in Hagwon,” directed by Ahn Pan Seok of “Something in the Rain” fame.
Set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighbourhood renowned for its plethora of hagwons (private educational institutions), the drama centres around Jung Ryeo Won’s character, Seo Hye Jin, a dedicated hagwon instructor. Her life takes an unexpected turn when Lee Joon Ho, portrayed by Wi Ha Joon, reappears at the hagwon as a rookie instructor, bringing back memories of their unrequited love from the past.
In the teaser featuring Wi Ha Joon’s character, Lee Joon Ho boldly expresses his lingering affection for Seo Hye Jin, confessing, “I’ve never forgotten [you].” Despite Seo Hye Jin’s reservations about unpredictable relationships, Lee Joon Ho remains determined, stating, “I have to say what needs to be said.”
As Lee Joon Ho’s pursuit intensifies, his playful demeanor gives way to a heartfelt plea for Seo Hye Jin’s true feelings, culminating in a heartfelt confession: “I need you.”
Meanwhile, Jung Ryeo Won’s teaser showcases Seo Hye Jin’s initial reluctance and eventual vulnerability in the face of Lee Joon Ho’s persistent advances. Reflecting on the disruption caused by Lee Joon Ho’s return, Seo Hye Jin admits her struggle to resist his charm, asking, “Is there any way to not like Joon Ho?”
The teasers offer an insight into the complex dynamics between the characters, hinting at a compelling narrative filled with romance and emotional depth.
