Someone who is popular for both the UK and US versions of Whose Line Is It Anyway? is returning for Season 18’s Episode 6. But before we moved to the same, we had one kind of a show last time. Nyima Funk joined the trio for the night. We also had Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson joining the cast on some of the games that the show went through. Opening the night was the game “Weird Newscasters” which saw Brady giving a history lesson of United States Of America like never before.
Following the opening game, Wayne Brady danced everyone to the tunes on the Song Style as he confronted Shawn Johnsons. Then Ryan brought out the most interesting hybrid human being as Hockey Player in the “Forward Rewind” game. The audience took charge to choose some of the weirdest scenes they wanted the cast to act out upon in “Scenes From The Hat”. Then “Greatest Hits” closed the special night with Shawn Johnson. Here is a look at everything that went down in Whose Line Is It Anyway? Season 18 before we move to Episode 6.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? S18 E05 Recap
Previously on Whose Line Is It Anyway Season 18, the game “Weird Newscasters” opened up the night. All four of the performers joined in. Colin plays the role of an Anchor while Nyima, Wayne, and Ryan will be his co-presenters. Nyima is a grumpy old news anchor, Wayne is a sportscaster who will talk about America’s history, and Ryan will be weather forecaster and upbeat children’s TV host. Wayne stole the show by introducing hammer as an important part of America’s history along with his own birth.
Next, it was “Song Style”. Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson will join Wayne, who would be making up a song. Joining them are Laura Hill and Linda Taylor on guitar and piano. The song will go all in High School Musical/Glee style. Following that, we had Forward Rewind, with all four performers joining in. Colin is a demanding ice hockey coach who is trying to out rookie Wayne. Hot-headed star Ryan confronts them for cutting him off the team. Lastly, Nyima is Wayne’s sassy girlfriend who comes out to support him.
Ryan stole the show from “Forward Rewind” for creating the first Swedish-French hockey player from Uganda. Lastly, we had the game “Scenes From The Hat”. The scenes audience requested included, “Scenes you never see on a Starship Enterprise”. “If they had action movie trailers for mundane jobs”. “The spells Harry Potter tries when he thinks no one is looking”.
The last game of the night was “Greatest Hits” with Ryan, Colin, and Wayne playing. Laura Hill and Linda Taylor join with their guitar and piano again. The audience suggested the word Plumber, so the album they have is “Songs Of The Plumber”. We had an Adele Plumber-related song, “My Pants Don’t Fit, and My Crack is Out”. Then we had Macklemore styled, “I’m Gonna Charge You More Than A Doctor”. The episode closed with winners Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles reading credits with guest Shawn Johnson as judges scoring a gymnastic routine.
