The 90 Day series never fails to bring to light some of the strangest long-distance relationships, but TLC’s 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way is a whole other story. Airing on television since June 3rd, 2019, this spin-off from the original franchise has proved itself to be just as entertaining and worthwhile.
The docu-reality show features people that are desperately willing to move to another country to find the love of their lives. Most of the 90-Day Fiancé series is known for its awkward couples that are usually formed due to either needing a green card or money.
This time, the Americans are the ones traveling to their lover’s countries, so the focus is going to be on them experiencing a whole new life.
With new cultures, food, and partner, these lovestruck people have no idea what they’re in for. This is why The Other Way has turned out to be a successful spin-off and has become the epitome of Trash TV.
After the first season featuring 5 couples managed to become a hit, the producers soon started working on new seasons of the show. The latest fifth season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has been airing since July 10th, 2023.
Who Is Still Together From 90-Day Fiancé: The Other Way?
The first season of The Other Way featured 5 couples, Deavan Clegg & Jihoon Lee, Tiffany Franco & Ronald Smith, Corey Rathgeber & Evelin Villegas, Laura & Aladin Jallali, and Sumit Singh. Paul Staehle and Karine Martins weren’t a new couple and had previously been on another show from the 90 Day Fiance franchise.
Deavan Clegg & Jihoon Lee
After meeting in Utah, Deavan and Jihoon soon fell in love after spending a short time together. They were shown in the first season of The Other Way as Deavan was from Utah, while Jihoon was from South Korea. Although they seemed to have their happy ending on the show after getting married, things between them got messy quickly.
The duo is now divorced, and Deavan has custody of their kids. Clegg is engaged with a new person, who seems to be a great partner as well as a father. Her son Taeyang had been diagnosed with Cancer earlier, and the duo has been busy making sure that all of their children are happy and taken care of.
Sumit Singh & Jenny Slatten
Jenny thought she was talking to a doctor named Michael Jones, but instead, it was a catfish, and the real man behind the persona was Sumit, a 30-year-old man from India.
However, this didn’t stop Jenny from pursuing Sumit, who later revealed he also had a wife. They appeared on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way quite a few times and had become a fan-favorite couple.
At present, Jenny and Sumit still seem to be going strong as they’re active on their social media. Slatten has dyed her hair brown and has completely assimilated herself within the Indian culture.
Paul Staehle & Karine Martins
This wasn’t a new couple in the 90-Day franchise, as they had already been a part of the series Before The 90 Days. Paul and Karine’s relationship on the show was quite unstable, but they go over their affairs together and returned to the US from Brazil.
Things went bad between the pair again after they accused each other of abuse, and Karine was caught hitting Paul in a video online. They weren’t together anymore by the end of 2022, but Paul was seen posting a video of Karine’s parents and his mom meeting each other for the first time earlier in 2023, so they might still be in contact after all.
Ronald Smith & Tiffany Franco
While on an adventurous trip to Africa, Tiffany ended up meeting Ronald, a 29-year-old with a shady past. Tiffany wasn’t aware of Ronald’s gambling issues, and they soon got married. Ronald couldn’t provide any financial assistance while the duo was together, and they would always be seen quarreling on the show.
As of now, Ronald is with another woman named Lauren Leighton Fraser, and their relationship seems to be going well. Tiffany is now solely taking care of her and Ronald’s kids and creating Makeup content on Instagram.
Aladin & Laura Jallall
With an age difference of more than 20 years, the couple Laura and Aladin decided to get engaged after talking for a little over 6 months. Laura was from Canada, while Aladin was a resident of Qatar.
However, the differences between their cultures were too big to cope with, and they separated soon after. Aladin is now married to another woman, while Laura seems to be enjoying her life with her cute pets for now.
Season 2 consisted of the couples Brittany Banks & Yazan, Kenneth & Armando, Ariela & Biniyam, and Tom Clarkson & Melyza Zeta. Jenny & Sumit Singh, along with Deavan & Jihoon, returned for another season. It began airing on June 8th, 2020, and ended in November of the same year.
Tim Clarkson & Melyza Zeta
While Tim was from Texas, Melyza was a resident of Colombia. Due to the less difference in their age and the chemistry between them, the duo fell in love and decided to get engaged back in January 2021. The couple is not as active on social media, but there’s news that both Tim and Melyza are still in love and busy taking care of their kids.
Kenneth Niedermeier & Armando Rubio
Just as in their time on the show, both Kenneth and Armando are still going strong even after years of living with each other. Kenneth is from Florida, while Armando is Mexican.
Although Kenneth was skeptical about being a parent anytime soon, the duo seems to have changed their mind and are now parents to a cute little girl. They returned to the franchise through episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk.
Brittany Banks & Yazan Abu Harirah
Yazan and Brittany managed to meet and begin a good relationship despite living in two completely different places. Yazan was from Jordan, while Brittany was a 26-year-old from the US and just two years older than Yazan. However, they end their relationship, and Yazan is married to another American woman.
As for Brittany Banks, she’s now a successful social media influencer and can be seen posting beautiful holiday pictures on her IG account. In 2023, Brittany does not seem to be in any (public) relationship.
Ariela Weinberg & Biniyam Shibre
While Ariela was from Princeton, Biniyam lived in Ethiopia. Weinberg and Shibre still made their relationship work and even had a child together. On the show, Biniyam wasn’t sure if he wanted to leave his life behind in Ethiopia and move to New Jersey, but by late 2022 the couple had shifted to the US. Ariela has undergone a complete transformation, as she lost many pounds and got lip injections.
Season 3 began airing on August 29th, 2021, with most of the couples, this time being from the two previous seasons. It will be completed airing by December 5th, 2021.
Ellie Rose & Victor McLean
Victor McLean and Ellie Rose were another unstable couple that was featured in Season 3 of The Other Way. While Victor worked in Providencia, a village in Colombia, Ellie used to be a restaurant owner.
They got into a relationship, only for Ellie to find out that Victor was cheating on her. They later got back and seem to still be together at present.
Alina Shaimardanova & Steven Johnston
Alina, a Russian native, and Steven from the US didn’t have the best relationship in the beginning. Johnston would treat her horribly by cheating on her and trying to manipulate her life.
Despite the bad treatment, Alina and Steven managed to keep their relationship going and were seen traveling the world through their social media posts.
Alina and Johnston can be seen posting pictures from Dubai, Busan, and various other places. From their most recent post, the Other Way couple can be seen enjoying their time in Antalya, Turkey.
Season 4 can be considered one of the best seasons from 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, as it had many new iconic couples. It started airing earlier this year on January 29th, 2023, and completed airing by May 28th, 2023, with 17 episodes in total.
Daniele Gates & Yohan Geronimo
Daniele and Yohan met and fell in love while Gates was on a trip with her pals in the Dominican Republic. However, their relationship status is unclear as of 2023, but Daniele can be seen enjoying the Dominican Republic life and recently posted about a life-changing yoga retreat she had in the country.
Jen Boechner & Rishi Singh
Jen and Rishi ended up bumping into each other while Jen was on a visit to India. Rishi was a model, and that was what attracted Jen. However, when Jen came to India once again and met Rishi, she found out that he hadn’t told her conservative parents about her, and they were busy looking for a suitable partner for him.
Things got worse when Jen’s friends started to interfere in the relationship. However, They got along later on and are now busy experiencing their new and exciting life together in India. Jen also posted a wholesome reel on Instagram where the duo was seen having fun at a wedding of Rishi’s relative.
Debbie Aguero & Oussama Berber
Debbie and Oussama had an age gap of almost 43 years, but despite the huge difference, they had hope that the relationship would work out.
Oussama was looking forward to moving to the US and making a living with Debbie, but she insisted on living in Morocco. There was barely any chance that they would work out, so Debbie and Oussama broke up while the show was still going on.
Gabriel Pabon & Isabel Posada
While on a trip to Colombia, Gabe met Isbael after being introduced by a mutual. Though they were deeply in love with each other, Gabriel was unsure about how Isabel’s parents would react to the fact that he was trans.
This ended up not being as huge of a problem, and they had a beautiful wedding while on the show. Gabe’s sister, Monica, was not okay with him marrying Isabel, but the wedding still went smoothly without her. As of 2023, they seem to be in Cartagena, Colombia.
Nicole & Mahmoud Sherbiny
Hailing from Los Angeles, Nicole was in for a complete surprise when she married Egyptian store manager Mahmoud and decided to shift to his country. Asides from converting to Islam, Nicole also had to change her lifestyle and fashion choices.
Mahmoud was manipulative and controlling towards her throughout the season. This caused Nicole to decide to go back to LA and bring Mahmoud with her. As of 2023, the Sherbiny couple is still together but inactive on Social media.
