Sammi Kinghorn’s partner is Conor Spence. While the racer is notoriously private about her personal life and intends to keep it that way, the two met when they were in school and have been together since then. While talking about her para Olympics journey, Samantha revealed how Conor had earlier accompanied her on training sessions to encourage her. It was either Conor or Samantha’s father who used to take bikes to keep up.
Samantha further added how her boyfriend is more of a shouter, while her father prefers to chat with her. Kinghorn was later selected for the 100 and 800-meter race events, and she celebrated her selections by drinking chilled champagne with her family and boyfriend.

Kinghorn recalled how she and her father were clearing snow at the farm when she accidentally climbed onto a forklift, and her father lowered the beam onto his daughter, which shattered her spinal cord.
Kinghorn recalled how her mother had to spend the first few weeks in the hospital with her and how she had to quit her job. Samantha Kinghorn admitted that the night she had her accident, she felt like all her dreams had been shattered. However, it was a decade later when Samantha was yearning for her family’s presence so that they could witness her speed to the first Paralympic medal with bronze under the 100m T53 category.

Samantha Kinghorn has admitted that she had a tough time as she felt bad that everyone else was also dealing with the tragic accident. Kinghorn pointed out that when someone sees someone in a wheelchair, they only see the person and their suffering but do not realize what their family has to go through and deal with.
However, her determination and willpower helped Samantha achieve the best as she earned the title of being the fastest-ever female British wheelchair racer over 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m. The racer revealed that this is something that might not have happened in the first place if she was not introduced to the sport by her hospital. Kinghorn also credited her family and her boyfriend for their unconditional support.
