People who started watching General Hospital in the late nineties might not know Eddie Maine. Similarly, some unfortunate viewers missed Eddie’s part even after watching the series from the beginning. However, it was one of the notable characters with an amazing love story in the series.
Eddie Maine, the fictional character, does not regularly appear in the General Hospital. He was on the fictional Gala called ‘Nurses Ball,’ famous for musical performances and glamorous fashion in Port Charles. Please do not get confused between Eddie Maine and his maternal grandfather, Edward Quartermaine.
Some viewers think that Ned only called himself Eddie to get out of his regular family drama. Meanwhile, others question why Ned would keep Nina’s secret. He must be planning for an explosion about her secret or giving her some time to correct her mistakes.
Eddie’s career music got boosted after appearing in the show. Nurses Ball got halted from 2002 to 2012 and appeared again in 2013 in General Hospital. He got accused of physically assaulting a woman in 1994. However, he got proven innocent in August 2003.

Views thought he would get up with a twist, and the same happened. He spent a few days in the General Hospital and woke with a new identity. He began calling himself ‘Eddie Maine.’ So, our Eddie Maine is none other than Ned Ashton (played by Wally Kurth).
Ned was a businessman, former mayor of Port Charles, Head Chairperson, former VP of new business, and former interim CEO at ELQ. Still, he was not thrilled with it. Instead, he got desperate to be a rock star.
Eddie Maine joined a band called ‘The Idle Rich’ and performed at Nurses Ball in 1995 and 2000. He (Wally Kurth, indirectly) also used the platform to raise funds for the Ryan White Foundation to help HIV-affected people survive.
Nurses Ball is a fictional annual charitable event where the characters of General Hospital come together for a good cause. Eddie fell for his colleague, Lois Cerullo, though he was married to Katherine Bell as a result of blackmail. However, he married Lois, who gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Brook Lynn. Meanwhile, Lois suddenly appeared out of the cake at Katherine’s birthday party to congratulate her for being another Mrs. Ned Ashton.
So, things went wrong when Ned’s cards opened. He again got closer to Lois but struggled with business and two families for a year. Lois left Eddie when she found his double life and got back to him after he divorced Katherine.
Ned got involved with Alexis, and their personal lives got shaken by his fans. Thus, he decided to focus on Quartermaine’s business. Lois went to Port Charles to join Ned in his business and parental duties. However, no more romance was shown between them. The duo left the town with their daughter in 2005. Ned returned after a few years, but Lois never appeared again.
Brook Lynn used to write songs and sing for her band. However, her career suffered when an incident damaged her voice. Unable to sing, Brook Lynn turned to a songwriter and manager. It got said that Brook Lynn Quartermaine used her father’s condition for her betterment.
