Who Does Mara Pick on the Voice? Perhaps Mara Justine was the strongest contestant to appear at the two-hour Season 24 premiere of The Voice. Her cover of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” spun around on four chairs in just about 30 seconds (see above).
Coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend all fought to have Mara on their team, but some domestic viewers were left wondering how little the New Jersey girl looked.
There may have been some people who were troubled by this. There’s a good reason for that. She previously appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and “American Idol.”
Mara Justine, 21, of Galloway Township, is only halfway through the NBC-TV reality singing competition “The Voice.”
Midway through the season, Justine revealed at the start of Tuesday night’s show that she would decide whether to stay on the show and be mentored by No Doubt lead singer and solo artist Gwen Stefani or be mentored by her ex, New Directions team member Niall Horan.
Justine sang “Without You,” a song recorded in the 1970s by the late singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson, but she sang a 1990s version of the song by Mariah Carey.
After Justine sang the epic, dramatic ballad, her original coach, John Legend, said he thought it was the best performance she’s ever given on the show. “You sold your connection to that song and your beliefs,” Legend told her. “I really feel that you have an artist’s perspective, and that’s very compelling.”
After the blind auditions and battle rounds, the knockout rounds began during Monday’s show.
How Galloway Township’s Mara Justine Progressed on ‘The Voice’
Mara Justine of Galloway Township made it through the second stage of the competition, known as the Battle Round, on NBC’s singing competition reality show “The Voice” on Tuesday.
Her three singers from the same coaching team will compete. They will sing the song they chose in the final round.
Justine’s knockout round was difficult as she was competing against two other four chairs from the blind audition who were on her and Legend’s teams. Justine competed against North Carolina’s Caleb Sasser and Shimizu.
Before Justine performs “Without You” in front of her coaches and audience, the TV show shows Justine rehearsing the song with Legend and country star Wynonna, who competes with her. He became a mentor to two singers.
Before singing the song at rehearsal, Justine told television viewers why she chose this song. Justine said that for her to win, she needs to take Legend and Wynonna’s advice and implement it on stage.
Galloway Singer and Current Season of NBC’s ‘The Voice’
As soon as Justine sang “Without You” on the show, Horan and Stefani praised her performance before learning that Legend would not choose her to remain on the team. “When I look at you, I can’t take my eyes off you—what your face and hands are doing. “You’re so emotional with your whole body and your voice,” Horan said.
“Mara, it doesn’t matter what song you sing. It’s like it could be the song that you wrote. You feel like you’ve become a real artist,” Stefani said. He told Legend to protect Justine over Sasser and Shimizu.
After Legend chose Shimizu, Horan, and Stefani each suggested Justine be added to the team and remain on the show.
Who Does Mara Pick on the Voice?
Galloway Township’s Mara Justine will work with Niall Horan while remaining on The Voice.
Mara Justine of Galloway Township announced Tuesday that she will continue to appear on NBC’s singing competition reality show “The Voice” as a member of a singing team led by former One Direction member and solo artist Niall Horan. It was determined.
Her rendition of Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey’s hit song “Without You” was extremely popular after Justine’s first coach, John Legend, chose a different singer and team member to continue the show.
It was so strong that Horan and Gwen Stefani each wanted Justine on their team. Will remain on the show until the end of Monday’s episode.
The next episode of “The Voice” will air at 9 PM Tuesday, starting with Justine, 21, choosing between Horan and Stefani.
