Are you someone who is a fan of a fancy house? If yes, then you must know what is ‘Home Work’ and the theme behind it. Home Work is a home renovation show which makes the house exceptionally beautiful. Many people dream of a beautiful house renovation. Home Work indeed is a perfect example to look up to. Andy and Candis Meredith collaborate with their children in “Home Work” to transform a 113-year-old house into a lovely home. Candis and Andy work on upgrading their cooking and eating area in the opening episode, “Old-World Kitchen.” Their renovation styling may inspire you to make some modifications to your own home. But the question is, where is ‘Home Work’ filmed?
Andy and Candis have their own style and strategies to renovate the houses. So here we are to take you through everything about Home Work. We will explore what is Home Work all about, its filming and what all allegations the show faced. Let’s dig in.
What Is Home Work All About?
Home Work revolves around Candis and Andy, along with their seven children. The Merediths have a wonderful relationship, a large family, and a lot of sass on camera. They are devoted to adopting eccentric, rather than pricey, renovation techniques. Bennion had known the Merediths for several years after meeting them at a DIY Network launch party, and the three had remained in touch over the years. The thought of the three partnering on a project was a no-brainer for Bennion after she purchased her Bountiful house, especially with the promise of the television series, she told KSL.com. When they met to talk about the project, Bennion expressed concern that a full kitchen remodel would cost roughly $50,000, which she could not afford. She was told, though, that it would be considerably less expensive.
That was before the Magnolia Network approached the Merediths with the idea of hosting a new version, beginning with the Merediths’ conversion of a 20,000 square-foot schoolhouse into a home for their big, blended family, as well as renovations for other Utah families. Many of the show’s prospective homebuyers, including Bennion, were intrigued by the fact that Magnolia was behind it. She even pondered if the addition of television money represented any unique benefits, such as a price reduction or free labor, but the price seemed too wonderful to pass up. She said she was informed the gutting and remodeling would take three weeks, beginning in October 2019; thus, the project was approved with a $25,000 budget.
Where Is The Show ‘Home Work’ Filmed?
The filming of the Home Work was done in Utah, and this was one of the unique shows introduced for Utah-based people. Bennion was the first one to grab this opportunity, and in October 2019, the show began filming at Bennion’s home. It was completed in March 2020, just before the coronavirus epidemic disrupted everyone’s life. Bennion’s restoration dream has turned into a nightmare, which she has been battling for the past two years. She changed from being Magnolia’s “most ardent supporter” to being “a victim of their expansion and avarice”.
When they were finished, she ended up shooting a reveal with them for the show, but she admitted she “faked” her joyful reaction. Bennion claimed that once the couple completed remodeling, she spent a lot of her own money and worked on making the kitchen the one she had hoped for.
Allegations
Home Work was not aired. This is because of some of the concerns expressed by the clients. Andy and Candis also took this to their Instagram. Andy and Candis contend that some of their client’s allegations are false. “We absolutely deny that we have ever taken money from these clients. We haven’t defrauded so many families,'” they stated on Instagram. We collaborated with certified general contractors.” While Candis declined to clarify, she did tell House Beautiful, “I look forward to revealing more details if and when I can.”
One of the most serious difficulties with Home Work’s production is that the Merediths appear to have taken on many more duties than is customary for reno show hosts (and even real-world designers). Andy and Candis both acted as executive producers for the show, while Candis also served as director and design producer, all while supervising eight or nine client renovations during the course of the show’s several-month production period.
