Dirty Grandpa filming locations are what makes the fans curious right now. The film was released back in 2016 and shows us the comedy genre. The plot focuses on a corporate lawyer named Jason Kelly.
He is working in Atlanta in his own father’s law firm. Soon, he sets on a road trip with his grandfather to Boca Raton in Florida. He is set to marry a woman named Meredith, who is too controlling of his life and does not want him to go.
As the trip begins for the duo, they stop at a diner at the roadside. Here, they come across Shadia, who used to be a classmate of Jason. Shadia is friends with Lenore and Bradley. Lenore tells the grandfather-grandson duo that she fantasizes about hooking up with a college professor.
Now that Dick wants to sleep with her, he says that he is a professor and Jason is actually a photographer for Time. Soon, they meet with the girls at Daytona Beach. Jason is obviously annoyed with his grandfather flirting with the young girls.
Later they have a party where Dick slips a Xanax in Jason’s beer, who gets insanely drunk (and naked). He also smokes crack cocaine from a drug dealer and steals a motorcycle after that.
Dirty Grandpa – Plot
The next day, he wakes up on the beach wearing only a hornet fanny pack. While he is on FaceTime with Meredith and his family, a toddler grabs his fanny pack and runs off, meaning he has nothing to hide now. The locals call the police, and he gets arrested.
Dick later bails him out of jail. Annoyed the whole night, Jason decides to leave Dick at a nursing home with his old army friend. But again, the grandfather convinces Jason to stay with him until he is successfully able to sleep with Lenore.
Throughout the movie, we see the duo having fun and misadventures and finding out what they want their future to look like. It was especially quite eye-opening for Jason, who was stuck in a controlling relationship with his fiance Meredith.
Dirty Grandpa Filming Locations
1. Atlanta in Georgia
The city was primarily used to show us the location of Jason’s family seat as well as the law firm at which he works. This was where the movie started in the first place.
2. Tybee Island in Georgia
This beach location is situated near Savannah in Georgia. There were a lot of beach locations in the film, as is already specific when Jason and Dick are set on a road journey. The majority of those were filmed on Tybee Island.
3. Savannah in Georgia
Some city scenes in the film were shot in Savannah as well. The place serves as a beautiful historic district that consists of ancient architecture.
4. Daytona Beach in Florida
Given the fact that Jason and Dick were traveling to Florida in the first place, it only made sense that beaches from the city were also featured in the film. There were many scenes in the film, such as the party one where Jason gets too drunk and Dick tampers with his beer, were filmed here. The boys were trying to meet with the ladies.
5. Miami in Florida
The plot of the story is based entirely on a road trip and the adventures. Thus, Miami was used for the scenes where we see Dick and Jason having fun with Shadia and Lenore, as well as the group. Miami is the heart of Florida, and it only made sense to shoot some of the scenes here.
6. Decatur in Georgia
This is a common suburb in Atlanta. It is known for its peaceful living locations and families who are settling down in the city.
Thus, it was used as a backdrop for some of the homely scenes in Dirty Grandpa to symbolize a settled lifestyle which hoth the men came across later in the movie after marrying the girl of their dreams and also with Dick having a kid with Lenore. Jason and Shadia were named as the grandparents of the same.
