Hallmark movies are not exactly known for being versatile, however, they are known for being dependable when you need to just sit back, relax, and watch something aesthetically pleasing. If you are looking for something to watch, which you do not have to think about too much, a Hallmark movie is always a safe bet. One such Hallmark movie is Love On The Slopes, which premiered on January 6th, 2018.
The movie follows an aspiring travel writer, who seeks the help of an extreme sports photographer for a magazine article. They begin to develop feelings for each other while working on the project.
Love On The Slopes stars Katrina Bowden and Thomas Beaudoin as Alex Burns, the aspiring travel writer, and Cole Taylor, the extreme sports photographer, respectively. Other members of the film’s beautiful cast include Elysia Rotaru, Anthony Konechny, and Corey Woods. They play Kate, Barton Kane, and Sarah respectively.

Plot
Love On The Slopes revolves around Alex Burns, a less than daring aspiring travel writer, who tries out extreme sports to write a magazine article, with the help of Cole Taylor, an extreme sports photographer. As per usual in Hallmark movies, love ensues. Alex is an NYC-based copy editor, who is sent to Ridgeline Resort, an extreme sports outpost, to write a story for a travel writing competition. She enlists the help of Cole, an extreme sports enthusiast, and at first, she fails at everything, much to his chagrin.
He thinks this city girl should head back to New York. However, he reluctantly obliges to be her guide as she faces her fears doing one extreme sport after the next when she offers to assist him with his local arts festival. Alex is a copy editor at Around The World, a New York-based travel magazine, A job she has despite never having done any travel on her own.
However, that may change when, most importantly, she has a chance to be promoted to full staff writer with continual access to the travel she so desires. Being given a first-class ticket to anywhere in the world, she enters a competition where the person who writes the best article will have it featured as the cover of the next edition. The company has this open contest among its staff to write an article of their choice, as the editor in chief, Peter McHugh, announces that he wishes to expand the magazine by broadening the scope of their stories.
Peter also implies that real travel writers are not afraid to rough it in out-of-the-way places. However, Alex envisions her travel including being pampered at five-star resorts and looking stylish while doing it. Alex then believes that her story should focus on seemingly reclusive adventure photographer, Cole Taylor, and what makes him tick.
She comes across his work online without any other information about him beyond the fact that he is based in the mountains of Ridgeline, Colorado. Peter, however, tells her that what would be a better story is for her to write about what it is like from a novice’s perspective and overcome her fears while trying out these extreme sports for herself.

Love On The Slopes Filming Location
Love On The Slopes is set in the fictional Ridgeline Resort, Colorado. Even though the resort is supposed to be in Colorado, in reality, it was shot on Whistler Mountain, in British Colombia, Canada. As you may already know by now, most Hallmark movies are filmed in parts of Canada. However, the place is not completely fictional. There is actually a Ridgeline hotel that exists in Estes Park, Colorado. The hotel is just as extreme and adventurous as going to the fictional Ridgeline Resort would be, as the park is considered the “gateway” to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Along with other winter activities, people can go snowshoeing, snowboarding, or skiing, in the winter. Whistler Mountain, however, where the film is actually shot, also has tons of different resorts, hotels, and accommodations, along with a slew of summer and winter activities. Both the places are not all about extreme sports either, they provide their share of pampering and luxury as well.
