American Rapper Da Brat has announced her own reality show along with her partner Judy. The show will be called Brat Loves Judy. She will be joining her “Dish Nation” colleague Porsha Williams in the reality show world by starring in her own on WE-TV. The news was further confirmed by the Georgia film office through a post that WE-TV is starting production of a reality show called “Da Brat Loves Judy.” WE-TV has a huge production and viewership ratio in Atlanta city. They also produce reality shows like “Braxton Family Values,” “Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta” and “Waka & Tammy.”
Shawntae Harris, also known as the Da Brat, begin her career at the age of 18. She broke into the rap scene in 1992. Signing with Atlanta’s So So Def Records. In 1994, her debut album Funkdafied, went platinum making her the first female solo rapper to set the legacy. She joined the Dish Nation TV show and went on to manage The Rickey Smiley Morning Show in 2016. The TV show premiers every night in Atlanta on the Fox affiliate Fox 5 WAGA-TV. While the Rickey Smiley radio show plays locally on Classix 102.9. One of the hits from the 90s is Ladies’ Night (Not Tonight) that still plays in the clubs globally. She announced last year that she was dating Jesseca Dupart, who goes by Judy. Judy is the CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products and has around 1.7 million Instagram followers.
When Will Brat And Judy Premiere?
Episode 13 of season 6 of Growing Up Hip Hop will premier on August 5, 2021. The episode will feature Judy taking the help of the Da Brat’s closest friends and family members to set a secret plan to propose to her. There will be a lot of secrets sneaking around in the episode as Judy will be implementing the proposal pan without letting Da Brat know a single thing.
But the premiere date for the reality show “Brat loves Judy” is not decided yet. The show will be like a spin-off of Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta produced by the same production house. The show will have conversations between Da Brat and her family about her coming out publicly. In an official statement by the WE-TV, they spoke up about how both women are very important to them and the world. The two powerful and successful women are going to share their brand-new relationship with audiences for the first time ever. The show is calling up the viewers to experience all their emotional ‘firsts’ alongside them.
After going public with her relationship, Da Brat spoke about the things that go on in the industry, especially for artists who belong to the LGBTQ+ community. She spoke up about how both misogyny and homophobia have created a culture where coming out would have been career suicide for a Black woman in hip-hop in her time. She says that she is very happy now and loves her girlfriend Judy. And she sure does have a story to tell. As she came out of the closet last year, the reaction from her fans and other people was overwhelming. It made her feel accepted and loved. She even questioned herself that why didn’t she do this thing years ago.
What Will The Show Feature?
Da Brat and Judy will be giving a look at their personal lives through the show. The show will focus on the family and friends who were also featured in the reality series Growing Up Hip Hop. The new show will also include Judy’s adult daughter, Deja, and her infant daughter Kenzie. Bella, who is Brat’s manager and confidante, will also be a huge part of the show. Along with them, her friend Montana and his wife Rhonda will also be joining. The main family of Da Brat and Judy i.e. their six dogs – Staxx, Rockie, Fat Boy, Loyal, Fendi, and Rebel can not be left behind in any case. There are also rumors of guest appearances. For now, a surprise appearance by Brat’s sister Lisa Raye McCoy is scheduled as the siblings dig deeper into their strained relationship.
