The original story of Tangled is very disturbing and different from the one adopted in Disney movies. In the children’s Disney Movie, we have seen Rapunzel, a princess who was kidnapped by a witch after knowing her hair had some magic power that would help to live young forever. A Witch Queen lived in a jungle and used to protect the herbs to keep her young. However, one day the neighboring Queen’s pregnancy troubles forced her soldier to get those herbs for their Queen. The Queen turns furious after realizing what has happened. She kidnapped their young daughter named “Rapunzel” as Rapunzel’s hair has magical power.
She hides Rapunzel inside a tower away from the world. Rapunzel was always eager to explore the world. One day a thief who has stolen the crown hides in her closet. Rapunzel tries to inform the Witch about it, but the Witch shuts her up. Later on, Rapunzel agrees to hide the thief on the promise that he will show her the lights of the world. One fine night, Rapunzel and Flynn (Thief) escaped the Tower and went to the jungle. However, they were trapped in a cage where Rapunzel used her magical power to save them.
Towards the end of the story, the Witch found out about Flynn and stabbed her. Rapunzel tries to save Flynn (Eugene), but he cuts her hair, and as the magic power is gone, the Witch turns into ash. In the end, Flynn and Rapunzel tie the nuptial knot and have a happy ending. Nonetheless, the original story of Tangled is very different from the one adopted in the movie. What is the Original Story of Tangled?
The original story of Tangled was adapted by the Brothers Grimm, and they too modified the story. Later, Grimm’s version of the story is adapted into a movie. However, that is also very different from the original story.
The original story of Rapunzel started with her birth mother’s craving for Rapunzel (Root Vegetable). When her mother was pregnant, she saw the herbs in her nearby garden. Her cravings for herbs intensified, and she became ill. Seeing her Queen’s condition, Rapunzel’s father gets into the garden to steal the herbs. However, the Sorceress catches him. When he asked for mercy, she told him to give his child. She will take care of her like a mother, to which he agreed.
Rapunzel started living in the garden with the Sorceress. However, when Rapunzel turns into a beautiful girl, the Sorceress locks her in the Tower so that she will never fall for someone. One day while she was singing a song, a Prince heard her voice. Impressed with her voice, the Prince climbs the Tower with the help of Rapunzel’s hair. Seeing the Prince, she is shocked, but he tries to calm her down. The sweet nature of The Prince impressed Rapunzel, and they became friends. Every night Rapunzel opened her hair, and the Prince climbed the Tower to meet her.

What Happens In The End?
One day, while she was talking with the Sorceress, Rapunzel revealed about the Prince. Sorceress plans out an evil plan to kill the Prince. She cuts the tangled hairs and ties them to the window. Thinking it is of Rapunzel, the Prince entered the Tower. He was shocked to see a sorceress. To protect himself, the Prince jumped from the Tower and lost his vision.
Meanwhile, the Sorceress throws the Pregnant Rapunzel into the desert. Unlike in the Disney movie, Rapunzel’s hair does not have any magical power in the original story. Tangled gave birth to her twins in the desert and started living as a maid. Years later, one day, when she was singing a song, the Prince heard her voice and recognized her. The two reunited and later got married.
