Kathleen Turner is an American actress. She is also known for her distinctive, gritty voice. The 66-year-old actress was born on June 19, 1954. She was also nominated for the Academy Awards and Two Tony awards. Kathleen has showcased her work in different movies like Body Heat, The Man with Two Brains, Crimes of Passion, Romancing the Stone and Prizzi’s Honor, The Accidental Tourist, and the War of the Roses, Serial Mom.
There are other movies too where she has been seen working like Undercover Blues, The Virgin Suicides, Baby Geniuses, and Beautiful. She was also seen in the famous sitcom called Friends as Chandler Bing’s drag queen father Charles Bing. Her voice has got its recognition as she has used her voice in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Monster House. In the whole time of her career, she has also worked in theatre. The Actress was born in the year 1954 in Springfield, Missouri. She is the daughter of Patsy (née Magee) and Allen Richard Turner. Allen Richard is a U.S. Foreign Service officer. Kathleen’s father was bought up in China. His father (Kathleen’s grandfather) used to serve as a Methodist missionary.
She has three other siblings and is the only one who is born in the United States. There is one sister named Susan and two other brothers. She was born and bought up in a strict Christian family where performance was restricted and prohibited. It was more of Turner’s mother who supported her with her performances. She was married to Jay Weiss. The marriage took place in the year 1984. The marriage didn’t go well for both of them which lead to the divorce in the year 2007. She has one child.
Turner grew in different countries like Canada, Cuba, Venezuela, and London, England. Also, she completed her high school at The American School in London. She completed her graduation in 1972. Her acting career started in high school only that was a stepping stone for her. Kathleen Turner’s father died due to coronary thrombosis just before a week of her graduation. After this, she went to Southwest Missouri State University and studied theatre there. Her talent in acting was discovered by director Herbert Blau in the play The House of Blue Leaves. He called her to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. There she took out her degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in the year 1977. During that period, she did perform under many directors and did many plays.
