What Happened to Jazz Jennings? Everything We Know.
She starred in a Television reality show on TCL titled “I am Jazz.” The show premiered in 2015. This show is based on her day-to-day life, and it shows insights into the struggles and challenges she was put through as a transgender.
She also hosts a series of videos on youtube with the same title about her life. Jazz graduated from her high school at Broward Virtual School in 2019. It is also worth mentioning that Jazz was valedictorian in class. Then she got accepted at Harvard University.
Jennings mentioned in an interview which was published on 11 April 2018 that she has lost around 30 pounds which is 14kg, as per the instructions of her surgeons’ for the sake of her Gender Reassignment Surgery on 20 June 2018. Though the surgery was successful, it continued with a few complications, which had to be followed by other required procedures.
Dr. Marci Bowers and Dr. Jess Ting performed the surgery on Jazz. Jennings mentioned that she had to fight the battle of both physical illnesses due to her weight gain and mental illness. She also claimed in an Instagram post that she has a disorder of binge eating which gained her almost 100 pounds. This is the reason for the one-year delay in her entry to Harvard University. Her own family has body shamed her for being fat.
What about the threats she received? Yes, coming there, The I Am Jazz actress’s inbox has been ringing with dangerous threats during the finale that is season 8 of I Am Jazz. She opened up to her mother about this on Tuesday, 28 February, on an episode of the show. She said that she has been receiving such threats from someone who intends to hurt her.
She also points out that the person is aware of her pieces of information, including that she is a Harvard University Student and that person wants to kill her as the threats just do not stop bothering her. She used her Instagram as a tool to speak out and react to all the threats standing up for herself and stating what it is like to a transgender in this day and that she receives threats on a daily basis, even in comments.
