Survivor‘s latest season, he just got off with a bang! The Survivor Season 44 premiere episode started intensely when one of the islanders suffered a head injury within a few minutes. Bruce Perreault started the survival game with all enthusiasm. However, Perreault got his head banged by an obstacle.
The survival game of Season 44 had the first task for the players to crawl beneath a wooden obstacle through a muddy floor. During this task, the 46-year-old contestant hit himself directly on his head while completing the task.
Survivor is a competitive game reality show which follows a bunch of contestants competing against each other to win the title of the only Survivor. They are left in a stranded place where they have to survive each task and vote another contestant off until only one player who wins the game show is left in the last.
What happened to Bruce Perreault in Survivor Season 44?
The usual treasure hunt game was the first challenge for the contestants in Survivor Season 44. The contestants were divided into three tribes, Ratu, Soka, and Tika. They were required to collect all the jigsaw puzzle pieces, put them together to get the clue, and then, at last, collect rings. Whichever team got the rings first was to be declared the winner and were given camp supplies.
All the 18 contestants were excited, and the game of survival began! However, within a few minutes of the game, Bruce from the Tika tribe got hit by a wooden obstacle while crawling underneath it.
The bang got his head bleeding. Though, Bruce at first, constantly kept assuring the show’s host Jeff that he was fine and needed no medical attention. However, Bruce was bleeding down all over his face, but he continued to complete the task.
Bruce collapsed on the sand during the other task level and lost consciousness for a brief period. Then, the host, Jeff, ended the challenge, and the medical team was called on the set. The medical team looked after the player when his condition didn’t seem promising. They took him to the hospital for further assistance and treatment.
Later, he was also evicted from the game due to health issues. After returning from the hospital, Bruce started to get severe headaches and, thus, was evicted from the show for his safety. This made him very emotional.
He broke into tears. However, he got back from his other teammates, who comforted him. Moreover, the show’s host Jeff Probst made a special announcement for the fans of the show who were sad for Bruce to leave. As a surprise for everyone, Probst, on the debut of his Survivor podcast “On Fire With Jeff Probst” announced that Bruce has been officially invited to the next season. Yay! That means we have already got the first contestant of Survival Season 45.
