“Mike Delfino’s” Early Life
When he was younger, Mike felt horrible that he couldn’t do anything to stop his father, Nick Delfino, from beating his mother, Adele. This made Mike feel the need to defend people in the future (“You Take for Granted”). When Mike was a teenager, he was popular, but his popularity was destroyed when his father was convicted of killing his boss and given a life sentence.
“Now That I Know, Don’t Be Afraid” Mike soon started seeing Deirdre Taylor, a drug addict whom he adored greatly. Mike also made money by selling drugs. When a bad cop tried to rape Deirdre, Mike saved her by killing the bad guy and throwing him from the balcony. For manslaughter and narcotics trafficking, he received a five-year prison sentence.
Deirdre was abandoned while carrying a kid whom she named “Dana.” Later, Deirdre sold her child to Todd and Angela Forrest to obtain drug money. Deirdre returned four years later to retrieve the infant they had left at Wisteria Lane.
Deirdre was stabbed by Angela, who then buried her under their swimming pool to prevent her from stealing the baby. To find out what happened to his daughter, Deirdre’s father, Noah Taylor, sent Mike to Wisteria Lane to look into the lane and its residents.
One year after the passing of his first wife and just before Mary Alice committed suicide in 2004, Mike, who had previously been married, began renting the Simms’ home at 4356 Wisteria Lane. Although he wanted to stay in Los Angeles, Mike moved to Fairview instead.
Noah, who was terminally ill, had begged him to look up information on Deirdre so that he would know what had happened to his daughter before he passed away. Along with Bongo, his late wife’s German Shepherd, Mike relocated to Wisteria Lane. When she was in the hospital, near the end of her life, she pleaded with Mike to look after him.
