You must have heard about the Titanic Submersible expedition that took the divers to the sunken Titanic. Stockton Rush, the CEO of OcenGate, was one of the occupants who went missing on 18 June 2023, and Wendy Rush is his wife. Her great-great-grandparents, Ida and Isidor Straus, were the wealthiest and most famous couple that died on Titanic.
However, Wendy’s identity is not limited to being Stockton’s wife. She works for OceanGate as the Director of Communication. Thus, she oversees the Titanic Submarine expeditions as a leader.
Wendy came into the limelight when her husband went on the Titanic wreckage at 12,500 feet below sea level in Massachusetts and went missing with four other explorers assisting him.
Later, it turned out that the submarine exploded, and none knew about it. Broken parts of the submarine remained as evidence of the search team. On 22 June 2023, it was confirmed that all explorers died.

Wendy Rush’s Career
Wendy got a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in 1984, where she met Stockton Rush. They completed their degrees together and got married in 1986. The couple has two children, Quincy and Ben.
Born in 1988, Richard Benjamin Rush (Ben Rush) is working for Google in San Francisco. Wendy’s second daughter, Quincy Rush, was born in 1991. The former is a software engineer, and the latter studies marine biology at Stanford University.
However, Wendy got a degree in history and Stockton in aerospace engineering. So, working for OceanGate must have been a turning point for her career.
Aerospace engineering is not in her blood, as her father, Richard Weil, teaches surgery at the University of Colorado Medical School. He also works as the director of transplantation there. Wendy’s mother, Polly Weil, is a partner in a well-known interior design firm.
Before joining as a board member in OceanGate in 2013, Wendy worked as a substitute teacher in England. Later, Ladd Associates hired her as an account manager. The 61-years old nature lover, Wendy, lives in Seattle, WA, and remains active on LinkedIn. She is also involved in ARCS Foundations Seattle Chapter.
Wendy Rush’s Net Worth
Wendy Rush’s Net Worth is around $2.25 million as of 2023 though it is less than $50 million, the net worth of Stockton Rush. She is a board member of the OceanGate Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to educate, research, and explore the depth of oceans.
In the case of OceanGate Inc, she started working as the company’s president while handling her duties as a board member. She got promoted to Communications Director in January 2022 after serving as the Communications and Tracking member for seven months.
So, Wendy’s major income comes from OceanGate Inc. and OceanGate Foundation. The salary of OceanGate employees depends on individual skills, job roles, qualifications, and other factors, like many other companies.
The highest average salary in OceanGate Inc. can be up to $931,995. So, we can assume Wendy’s income is in that range or even more than that, looking at her position in the company. Her income from both organizations can get estimated at $1 million.
Wendy gets involved in several civic and philanthropic bodies, such as the Seattle Children’s Hospital, the Seattle Art Museum, and more.
