Everything is planned out really well with the fake criminal charges on which these volunteers will be convicted. The series has brought a really great reform in prison. Because of the same, various corrupt officers were fired from their jobs because of how illegally they were handling the situations.

Back in 60 Days In Season 8 Episode 0 titled Before the 60 Days, we saw the story of the volunteers before they were about to enter Pitt County Detention Center. There were various interviews taken in place which tells us more about the life that occurs inside the prison.
The staff and the inmates also talked about how it really felt to them about being inside the jail. This was also the time when the volunteers were provided with their cover syories and were trained in basic self defense techniques to survive the days they will be loving inside the prison.
Later in the most recent 60 Days In Season 8 Episode 1 titled Welcome to Pitt County, we saw that the first three participants were admitted to jail. They started getting warmed up to the rest of the inmates at the jail and making some allies. This is a very crucial step because the rest of the real inmates should not actually have a sense of who they are dealing with. It is a very tough job and as civilians, the volunteers will really need to be careful about it all.
