Harris also highlighted diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire, mentioning talks between Hamas and Egyptian mediators in Cairo. While acknowledging the challenges ahead, she expressed optimism about the potential for progress in reaching a resolution to the conflict.
In response to the crisis, the United States conducted its first aid airdrop into Gaza, with plans to continue humanitarian assistance efforts. Harris assured that the U.S. would explore alternative methods, including sea routes, to deliver aid effectively to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
