Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 6 titled “We Need A Horse” saw Thorfinn and Einar continuing their work on the land cutting down the trees to prepare the land for harvesting. After doing some heavy work, Thorfinn and Einar barely manage to get one tree out of the ground completely.
Einar suggests that they need a horse for this work and he will try talking to the retainers even though he knows they will deny their request. The events turn out exactly how they saw they would and Thorfinn and Einar return disappointed to find an old man who calls them.
The old man agrees to land them on his horse but first asks them to do some chores for him such as picking up the stones from the farming land and also house chores. Einar thinks they are getting scammed but this is normal considering they are slaves however, the old man whose name is Sverkell is turned out to Ketil’s father and does lend them a plow and horse to get the work done.
Einar teaches Thorfiin about the farm and even calls him an overgrown child. One night after work, they end up at Skervell’s house to find out Ketil and Skervell are arguing and after they leave, Sanke who apparently lives there wakes up for dinner and invites them for dinner. Skervell is angry at Snake for eating without doing any work but he reveals that it is his job to protect the farm at night from the thieves.
As Thorfinn and Einar learn about Ketil’s wealth and how more wealth brings more danger and they also continue to do farm work where Thorfinn is surprised to be called a friend by Einar but is happy to be called one.
