Remember Hornswoggle? The pint-sized WWE Superstar who entertained us in the mid-2000s? He recently revealed a surprising fact about a scrapped WrestleMania match involving none other than Vince McMahon!
Hornswoggle was a regular on WWE TV from 2006 to 2016, delivering memorable moments and engaging storylines. He was even involved in a major angle with Vince McMahon himself.
A WrestleMania surprise that never happened
At WrestleMania 24, fans saw Fit Finlay square off against JBL. However, Hornswoggle revealed on a podcast that the original plan was much different! He said Vince McMahon was initially supposed to wrestle Fit Finlay in a WWE Championship match!
Hornswoggle admits the JBL match was fantastic, but a Vince McMahon vs. Fit Finlay title match would have been incredible. Just thinking about the build-up to that match sends shivers down wrestling fans’ spines!
Hornswoggle also shared a funny story about the JBL match. He revealed a near miss with a trash can that wasn’t part of the planned moves! JBL’s quick thinking saved the day, and the match became a highlight of WrestleMania 24.
While this scrapped McMahon match never happened, Hornswoggle still hopes for a future induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Regardless, fans can agree that Vince McMahon staying out of the ring at WrestleMania 24 might have been the best decision.
