Morgan Riddle, Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, has placed a risky bet that could leave her feeling uneasy. At the 2024 Australian Open, Riddle said that if her partner, wins his next match in the fourth round against Stefanos Tsitsipas, she will eat a jar of vegemite on live.
A mainstay of Australian cooking, vegemite is a thick, dark brown spread created from yeast extract that is infamous for its strong, salty taste. With one teaspoon comprising around 5% of the daily recommended consumption, it has a very high salt content.
Since 2020, Fritz and 26-year-old influencer and model Riddle have been dating. On the ATP tour, she has been posting pictures of their adventurous and exciting lifestyle on social media alongside him.
Shortly after Fritz defeated Fabian Marozsan in four sets to reach the Australian Open fourth round, Riddle revealed the vegemite challenge on Friday, January 19.
The influencer posted a few images of herself posing in front of the tournament’s main stadium, Rod Laver Arena, on social media and said, that if Taylor wins again, she will eat a jar of Vegemite on live.
Vegemite’s Reply
Fitz beat Stefano on Sunday and the next day he gave a jar of spread to Riddle, she accepted her defeat with a sly grin. Later she went to live with no bread or butter, just the raw vegemite. She immediately went out of frame to gag it out.
On Monday Vegemite came back with a cheeky reply, they said if you are doing it, then at least do it the right way. Australia, thoughts?
An hour later she replied, Sourdough bread with heaps of buttahh?
