Vampire Dormitory, adapted from Tooyama Ema’s manga, concluded its first season on June 23, 2024, with no announcements yet about a second season.
The manga series is still ongoing, leaving fans hopeful for more episodes. The anime’s first season introduced a new character, Ruka, who resembles the male protagonist, adding more depth to the storyline.
If a second season is produced, it could focus on Ruka’s story. Ruka is determined to pursue Mito despite recently overcoming Ren to reclaim his destined partner.
This continuation promises further development in the characters’ relationships and new challenges for them to face.
Why Vampire Dormitory Deserves a Second Season?
As of now, Studio Blanc has not confirmed a second season of Vampire Dormitory. This is not unusual, as they often wait to see how the current season performs with both Japanese and international audiences before making a decision.
The first season is still ongoing and has garnered attention for its unique storyline and character dynamics.
In Episode 12, viewers see Ren and Mito’s wedding ceremony. During the ceremony, Ruka gives Mito a thrall necklace, which helps her recover past memories.
Mito struggles with her vows and becomes emotional, leading Ruka to intervene and embrace her, transforming her back into a woman.
They return to their dorms with Mito living as a boy again, but Ruka becomes aware of her true identity.
The episode concludes with Ruze Tsukishiro, a new transfer student, joining Mito’s class, setting the stage for future developments.
The first season of Vampire Dormitory adapted the first 21 chapters of the manga, leaving seven volumes yet to be adapted.
If a second season is produced, it could focus on Ruze’s interactions with Mito and explore new potential love interests and challenges.
Fans enjoyed the first season’s chase for Mito and are eager to see this theme continue, possibly with Ruka facing a new opponent to save his partner.
About Vampire Dormitory
Vampire Dormitory follows Mito Yamamoto, a teenage orphan who has lived with various relatives who saw her as a burden since her parents died in a house fire.
After being kicked out by a relative, she becomes homeless and secretly sleeps at the ramen shop where she works until she’s fired for it.
To protect herself, Mito starts cross-dressing as a boy to avoid unwanted attention from strangers. While searching for another job, she accidentally breaks a vase at a cafe and cuts her finger.
Ruka Saotome, one of the waiters, tends to her injury and licks her blood, unaware she’s a girl. Disgusted by the taste, he sends her away.
Later that night, feeling hopeless, Mito contemplates suicide but is saved by Ruka, who reveals himself as a vampire and bites her neck.
He explains that unloved blood tastes bitter and proposes Mito become his thrall. Despite being a girl, Mito moves in with Ruka at Hijirigaoka Boys’ Academy, posing as a male student to conceal her true identity.
She also starts working at the cafe with Ruka and other waiters, going through her new life while keeping her secret.
