Recap
In Vampire Dormitory episode 1, the story kicks off with a sneak peek of Mito being rescued by Ruka, a vampire.
Then, it transitions to a palace scene where the next vampire leader is being chosen. The locals insist that only a candidate with a romantic partner can qualify.
In the human world, Mito loses his job after being caught sleeping on a boat by the owner. He explains that he had nowhere else to stay, but he’s still let go.
As he wanders, memories of his difficult past resurface, including being shuffled between relatives and left alone after his parents passed away.
The employee tastes Mito’s blood and finds it repulsive. Mito and the employee exchange a few words before Mito departs. Later, the owner informs Ruka that Mito’s unappealing blood is due to his lack of love from anyone.
After Mito leaves, the teaser from the beginning of the episode is repeated, and Mito faints. Upon waking up, he finds himself in the boys’ dormitory of Ruka’s school.
Ruka declares that he will take Mito in as his slave and endeavor to make him fall in love with him to improve the taste of his blood. As Mito is ushered towards the bathroom, it is revealed that he is actually a woman.
The first episode of Vampire Dormitory adapted only the first chapter of the manga series, and fans can expect the series to continue this trend.
This is because each chapter of the manga is longer than those of a regular manga series. The first chapter also reveals Mito’s true identity as a woman, adding an intriguing element to the story as she navigates life in a dormitory full of grown-up boys.
It presents a challenge for Ruka to protect his newly appointed slave from the advances of other vampires now that Mito is officially his roommate in the dormitory.
