The second season of Utsukushii Kare centers around Hira and Kiyoi. Hira is a university student, and Kiyoi is a devoted young actor. After high school, Hira and Kiyoi are living together happily in their way. Hira is a fourth-year university and a member of the photography club.
His classmates are getting jobs except him. Because of his introverted personality, he has no work experience. He is anxious about wasting his time and what he will do in the future.
Hira was bothered about his career as he gets rejected due to his stuttering problem. Koyama motivates him to participate in a photography competition. Kiyoi is busy with his shoots, whereas Hira disguises himself again to watch Kiyoi from afar.
Kiyoi returns home from his shoot. He finds food in the freeze and thinks about how Hira always takes care of him without objection. Kiyoi knows about Hira’s love and dedication toward him. But Hira is always shy and nervous around him.
When Kiyoi sees Hira sleeping on the table waiting for him, he tries to kiss him. But Hira gets scared of this and pleads for forgiveness for dozing before him. While they were starting to have some time, Hira got a call from Koyama regarding the club. Kiyoi dislikes them together due to their history.
Kiyoi is jealous of Hira spending time with Koyama in the club activities. Kiyoi and Koyama have a conversation, and Koyama calls Kiyoi a leech on Hira. They live together at Hira’s house, from cooking food to taking care of everything. Kiyoi takes the challenge to cook for Hira and surprises him.
Even though the food was terrible, Hira enjoyed it because it was the first meal Kiyoi had ever cooked for him. Kiyoi advises him to submit his entry to the competition. He encourages him to develop his skills and become a professional to face the world. Hira has decided to improve himself and reach the same level as Kiyoi.
