Ariana Madix coincidentally encounters someone who witnessed her during a difficult time. In a preview of the upcoming episode, the Vanderpump Rules celebrity shares an unexpected twist: While arranging a ride home from James Kennedy’s See You Next Tuesday DJ set at SUR (as seen on Tuesday’s episode), she is astonished to find herself picked up by the same rideshare driver who had driven her and her ex, Tom Sandoval, last March. It was the night she learned of his affair with friend and co-star Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.
“Can you believe our Lyft driver last night?” Madix, 38, asks Katie Maloney. “I still can’t get over it.”
During a confessional interview, the Chicago star reminisces about the driver’s words:
“I remember this house. I dropped you off here I think before.”
He added, “It was like you and your husband fighting. He was cheating on you.” Past that, though he seemed shockingly oblivious to the international sensation dubbed the Scandoval that captured reality fans’ attention all last summer.
Madix confirmed to Maloney the next day:
“He was the Lyft driver from the night of March 1st. I was like, ‘Well, we’re not together anymore.’ He was like, ‘That would make sense. Good.'”
Madix further notes that her driver “definitely has no idea that, like, that it’s like a thing. I just thought that was so crazy.”
“You’re like, ‘Have you ever heard of Reddit?” jokes Maloney, 37.
“I don’t think he has any clue how many people out there probably want to talk to him,” Madix adds with a laugh.
What the Lyft driver evidently didn’t grasp was that he was unwittingly observing the couple’s relationship unravel after nine years together.
The following day, Madix informed production about the events between Sandoval, 41, and Leviss, 29. Although filming for season 10 had concluded months earlier, cameras resumed to capture the intense aftermath of the affair. This included Madix expressing her raw emotions to Sandoval, stating she wished him “to die” and screaming, “I don’t give a f— about f—ing Raquel!”
Just weeks later, the brutal season 10 reunion was recorded. Following this, Leviss sought help at a mental health facility and ultimately opted out of returning for season 11. As season 11 airs, the drama escalates with the exes reluctantly cohabiting, and Sandoval grappling with strained friendships.
