Under the Oak Tree took a very cute and peaceful turn as Riftan finally understood the unavoidable nature of Maxi to look after the injured and be a healer for them. It was quite before when Riftan had to make lots of effort just to convince and make Maxi talk to him.
Riftan is overprotective of Maxi, who always wants to keep in front of her eyes. He even hires lots of servants just so Maxi doesn’t tire herself from the house chorus, but she gets bored sitting idle the whole day. Therefore, she finds solace in treating the injured soldiers of Riftan.
Maxi also wished to learn magic spells and mana treatments to become a pro healer. Riftan is worried that this all will make her wife tired but before Maxi, he has no choice but to accept her efforts. So he hires an expert healer who can be her assistant and at the same time teacher.
Under the Oak Tree is a widely popular romance manhwa originally adapted from a web novel by Kim Suji. The manhwa revolves around the life of Maximilian, who is a timid and submissive lady. She is from a noble family which can be evident from her way of conduct.
However, she was forced to marry a popular knight Riftan. Right after their marriage, Rifatn had to leave with his soldiers for a military campaign. Maxi was now a military wife, who would live with hope of his husband’s safe and fast return. But it took Riftan three years to return home.
In these three years, Maxi would have thoughts of self-doubt and inferior complexity. She would consider herself not worthy of Riftan. Meanwhile, Riftan after his return decides to devote the rest life only to Maxi and help her remove all the negative thoughts from her mind.
Both would spend time together and eventually develop feelings for each other. Their love has no bounds and become a popular couple in the town. However, their love would be tested several times by fate due to internal as well as external conflicts.
Recap
In the previous episode of Under the Oak Tree, the new mage teaches a lot of new things to Maxi about healing. At first frustrated Riftan brings the mage to their quarter and introduces him to Maxi. Her reaction is completely different as she is surprised by the age of the mage.
Despite his age, the mage is strong and not frail, unlike other 68-year-olds. However, Riftan is angry with the deal of getting the mage in return for three knights. But Maxi consoles him and asks him to cool down. But Riftan is worried, the mage doesn’t end up being her other patient.
To Maxi’s surprise, the mage tells her how the abundance of use of Magic Healing can harm the mind of the patient. However, it’s reckless to believe in magic healing for soldiers but when they believe it becomes a demand. The mage carefully tells her that she should always treat the needy only.
Not everyone deserves healing especially the evils because it makes them more powerful. Mage even promises to teach Maxi the use of Mana. She gets excited to learn new magical stuff. Meanwhile, at night, Riftan takes details of how the new mage is teaching her.
The next day, at the infirmary the knights were discussing how the number of monsters is widespread in the village. Just at this moment one of them asks Maxi if she visited the village after the festival. She nods her head and wishes to visit the village with Riftan.
