Prominent conservative anchor Tucker Carlson is leaving Fox News. The popular, but controversial news host departs from his long-running 8:00 PM hour show at Fox News Network. Carlson’s departure comes after his network settled in court a multimillion-dollar lawsuit led by the Dominion Voting Corporation following the 2020 United States presidential election. While it’s unclear if that’s the reason for his departure, the official response from the network is that Tucker Carlson’s last show aired last Friday.
His departure has stirred a divide among viewers, with those on the right mourning his absence and others applauding it. Regardless of opinion, one thing is for sure: Carlson has left Fox News after 13 years and will be remembered as one of its most notable figures. Where Tucker Carlson goes from here is uncertain – but many think that he may be taking a break from television and may appear elsewhere.
Tucker Carlson Out From Fox News
Tucker Carlson is out. In a short statement, Fox News announced that one of their signature anchors and commentators in the eight-o’clock news is no longer working with them. And while the timing coincides with the $700-million Dominion Voting defamation lawsuit against the conservative network after the Joe Biden-Donald Trump election, the network didn’t mention anything about that.
And that timing raises questions within the public as to why such a successful anchor had to part ways after more than a decade doing the daily night news and millions of people across the United States tuning in, sometimes dwarfing in ratings other major networks like CNN, ABC, and CBS.
Why Was Tucker Carlson Fired?
While there’s no official explanation on why Tucker Carlson had to mutually agree with Fox News about his parting from the network after thirteen years of uninterrupted work, the writings on the wall are evident: Carlson and his primetime show were accused of allegedly spreading disinformation about Dominion and the entire 2020 election. Fox News and Tucker Carlson in the wake of the 2020 election claimed that Dominion Voting rigged the election in favor of the then-Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden.
While Tucker Carlson’s show was also controversial in his statements from all walks of political life in America, ranging from culture wars, LBGTQIA+ rights, gun violence, and law reforms. But it seems that the Dominion issue was key to his ousting from Fox News, but it is not clear as there are no official statements. Lastly, Carlson has yet to make any comments regarding his exit from Fox News.

Who’s Picking U1p Tucker Carlson’s Spot On Fox News?
In the meantime, Tucker Carlson’s 8:00 PM slot will now be filled by rotating Fox News anchors. We could expect anchors like Maria Bartiromo, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham, who are all well-known faces on the Fox News network. Regardless of who picks up his spot, they going to have a hard time filling up the shoes of a man who managed to become the voice for many conservatives across the years. Carlson’s ten to twenty-minute editorials —covering current affairs from a Republican perspective were acute, poignant, and oftentimes divisive— at the beginning of his show became an iconic staple within conservative media.
What’s Ahead For Tucker Carlson After Fox News?
We still don’t know what Tucker will do after leaving Fox News. It’s likely that he’ll continue working as a journalist and commentator, he already has his own podcast on his website, and he could pick things up from there. Regardless of where Tucker Carlson ends up after Fox, his audience will follow and he’ll likely be successful in his future endeavors.
One prime example of a popular conservative anchor and commentator that left Fox News and went on to do her own thing is Megyn Kelly, who left the network after the Roger Aisles sexual harassment controversy and after a stint at NBC’s morning shows, went on to do her own podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show” on SiriusXM with a massive following.
