Seoul Gangnam Police initiated an investigation into trot singer Kim Ho-joong for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident. As of now, Kim’s representative has refrained from commenting on the matter.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of May 9, around 11:40 PM in Sinsa-dong, Seoul. Kim purportedly changed lanes and collided with an oncoming taxi before leaving the scene without addressing the situation.
Initially, an individual claiming to be associated with Kim asserted responsibility for the accident; however, during police questioning, Kim himself admitted to being the driver.
Although there were initial suspicions of intoxicated driving, a breathalyzer test administered by the police confirmed that Kim was not under the influence at the time of the collision.
Despite the ongoing investigation, he has continued with his national tour titled “Trot Baritone Classic Arena Tour,” which commenced in April.
Following the incident, he performed in Goyang on May 11-12, and is slated for upcoming performances in Changwon on May 18-19.
Moreover, he is scheduled for additional concerts, including a collaboration with the World Union Orchestra Super Classic in the ensuing weeks.
