In a TikTok video posted on September 30th, some Chiefs players swapped friendship bracelets in the locker room.
This happened when rumors were circulating that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might be in a relationship. Travis Kelce, upon receiving one of these bracelets, jokingly commented, “I know what these are all about.”
The Chiefs are aware that Travis Kelce has a history with friendship bracelets. In a July episode of his “New Heights” podcast, he mentioned that he attempted to give Taylor Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number when she performed her “Eras” tour in Kansas City.
A fan commented on the video, “Travis is so proud,” the Chief responded, “Big friendship bracelet, guys”.

NBC Sports also joined the fun amidst the dating speculations surrounding the singer and the NFL star. They shared a video on TikTok of Travis Kelce disembarking from the plane before the Chiefs vs. Jets gams on October 1st. In the video, NBC Sports playfully referenced Taylor Swift by writing, “Welcome to New York, Travis Kelce.”
They also nodded to another song from Taylor Swift’s fifth studio album in anticipation of the re-release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27th. In response to a fan who praised Kelce’s fashion sense, NBC Sports humorously replied, “He never goes out of style.”
