Tracker returned to its regular weekly air slot of 9 p.m. ET on Sundays following a huge post-Super Bowl debut last Sunday. The second episode of “Massoula,” which stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, premiered on CBS on the evening of February 18. In it, Hartley takes on a brand-new case.
Beginning with Colter’s mother wandering throughout her home late at night, the episode opens with her finding a note on a table that says, “I’m watching you.” Although someone has broken into and searched the little shed her late husband used for his office and workshop behind the house, nothing appears to be stolen.
When Colter visits, he discovers that her mother isn’t telling him the complete story since the figurine that was holding the note in the house wasn’t properly positioned on the shelf. When she tells Colter what happened, she obviously omits the note completely. Here is the recap!
Recap
Colter’s latest investigation takes him to Montana, the missing state of Jackson Chung, an accountant. According to his parents, Jackson started to distance himself when he started seeing an older woman named Rachel. He emptied his bank account, canceled his cell phone subscription, quit his job, and moved out of his residence.
What he was doing for Rebecca, he informed his father, “people can’t find out about.” Colter finds out from Bob that Rebecca was previously arrested for tax evasion and fraud, and that she is Jackson’s beneficiary on a recent life insurance policy. When he follows some leads to her address, he finds a garage equipped with an advanced video surveillance system.
On the different screens, Jackson is one of the many individuals being observed. A few people from personal security arrive to the residence and disrupt Colter. Colter has a quick physical exchange and is allowed to exit the property.
He follows the security vehicle to a different site, where he discovers Rebecca is a member of the Positive Light cult or pyramid scheme. Though they are eventually persuaded to give up their lives and money in service to the group’s leader, Seth, they are initially drawn in by encouragement and enthusiasm.
After receiving information about Colter, Seth confronts him in front of the audience while delivering a speech to his group. Colter meets with Seth as he stops by the Positive Light complex. Seth wants to find out significant facts about Colter during their talk. His true question is regarding Colter’s father.
It seemed that he liked Colter’s father. Seth inquires about Colter’s father’s passing and the reason for his downfall. The talk indicates that Colter’s mother is withholding information about his identity from him and that he doesn’t genuinely know why his father was let go from his work before withdrawing into the woods.
Upon taking the talk at face value, Seth is ritually burned on the arm for “witnessing and holding another person’s secret.” Bob gives Colter a call and informs him about the dubious background of Positive Light as an organization. Any negative comments about them have been removed from the Internet.
