Toto Warsito, the Indonesian voice actor known for voicing Muzan Kibutsuji in Demon Slayer, Henry Henderson in Spy x Family, and Eisen in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, has died. He passed away on the evening of October 7, 2026, according to reports from Indonesian media published on October 8. He was 53 years old, based on the birth and death years listed on his memorial card.
The news was shared by Voice Institute Indonesia, a school dedicated to voice acting, and subsequently reported by Indonesian news outlet Medcom.id. No cause of death has been publicly confirmed.
Warsito’s passing marks the loss of an experienced performer whose work reached audiences across television, animation, and anime dubbing. Although many viewers recognized the characters he voiced, his name remained less familiar to audiences than the fictional personalities he helped bring to life.
TOTO WARSITO’S CAREER SPANNED TELEVISION AND ANIME
Warsito began working in voice acting in 1993, with his early career connected to Studio Arvisco. He gained recognition through Indonesian television, particularly the Latin American telenovelas broadcast on SCTV. Among his early credits was Neftalí Güemes in Amigos por siempre.
He also voiced Van Pelt in the animated Jumanji series, which introduced Indonesian audiences to his work through a different kind of performance. These early roles demonstrated his versatility before anime dubbing became a more prominent part of his career.
His later work brought him to a new generation of viewers through Indonesian-language versions of Japanese anime. As Muse Indonesia expanded its Indonesian dubbing efforts from 2021 onward, Warsito became associated with several recognizable characters in popular series.
In Demon Slayer, he voiced Muzan Kibutsuji, the powerful demon who serves as the central antagonist of the franchise. He also voiced Henry Henderson, the strict but caring Eden Academy instructor in Spy x Family, and Eisen, the experienced dwarf warrior in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

These roles required different vocal approaches, ranging from Muzan’s threatening presence to Henderson’s formal manner and Eisen’s measured personality.
WARSITO ALSO HELPED TRAIN THE NEXT GENERATION OF VOICE ACTORS
Beyond his performances, Warsito shared his experience through a YouTube channel called PAKDE TO, where he published lessons under the series Belajar Dubbing, meaning “Learn Dubbing.” The videos introduced viewers to voice acting techniques and gave aspiring performers a look into the work behind professionally dubbed productions.
According to KAORI Nusantara’s report, Warsito also participated in a Muse Indonesia online discussion in June 2022. During the event, he mentioned working on narration for a project that he believed might be an anime, although the specific production was never identified.
His work as a performer and instructor reflected a career that extended beyond individual roles. He contributed to an industry that connects international entertainment with Indonesian-speaking audiences.
VOICE INSTITUTE INDONESIA PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE VETERAN PERFORMER
Following news of his passing, Voice Institute Indonesia shared a farewell message recognizing Warsito’s decades of work.
“Safe travels, Toto Warsito. Thank you for bringing so many characters to life through your voice,”
the organization said in a statement reported by Medcom.id.
The tribute reflects the impact of performers whose contributions are heard by millions but whose faces are rarely associated with the characters they portray.
Warsito’s career connected Indonesian television audiences with international productions for more than three decades. His performances as Muzan, Henry Henderson, and Eisen introduced his voice to anime fans, while his earlier dubbing work reached viewers through television series such as Amigos por siempre and Jumanji.
As fans remember his contributions, his performances remain part of the Indonesian-language versions of these beloved franchises. His death is a loss for Indonesia’s dubbing community and the viewers who came to know his work through the characters he voiced.
