For Tom Ellis and his spouse, Meaghan Oppenheimer, it’s a girl! The 44-year-old Lucifer star announced on Thursday night that she and her partner had welcomed their first child the day before. She even made a joke about possibly contributing to the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, as the union reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood studios on the same day.
Ellis revealed the news via an Instagram photo of himself and 37-year-old Oppenheimer gazing tenderly down at the baby, who was resting in a hospital bassinet. Both of the new parents looked down at her with broad smiles on their faces, clearly ecstatic.
The brand-new mom posted two pictures of their daughter to her Instagram grid: one of her in close-up and the other showing Ellis holding her over his shoulder.
Ellis and Oppenheimer joked in their captions, “Our daughter Dolly Ellis-Oppenheimer was born on November 8th, and within five hours of being alive, she single-handedly ended the SAG strike.” They told their incredible surrogate how much they loved her and how much they appreciated her.
