The previous episode described the build-up to a clash between two rival groups, Toman and Tenjiku. Toman realized some of their members had been attacked right before the fight. Despite worries amongst the group, their leader, Mikey, remained confident.
On the day of the showdown, a key character was murdered by Kisaki, who aimed to manipulate the situation to take control of Toman for himself. That is the reason why fans of the series are really excited about the release date of the upcoming Tokyo Revengers Season 3 Episode 6.
Titled ‘A Bad Hunch,’ episode 5 of the Tenjiku Arc delved deeper into the origins of Mikey’s character and his motivations. Flashbacks reveal Mikey’s long-standing jealousy and drive to become a leader after his friend Inui was chosen over him to lead the Black Dragons gang.
In the present day, Mikey catches wind of the impending attack being orchestrated against his Toman group by their rival gang, Tenjiku. Sensing the danger ahead, Mikey begins actively preparing his gang members to defend themselves and confront the Tenjiku threat.
However, unbeknownst to Mikey, Kisaki is plotting behind the scenes to take control of Toman for himself. Kisaki manipulatively murders Emma, who acts as Mikey’s emotional support and closest confidante.
Recap and Review
Emma’s sudden death at the hands of Kisaki serves several purposes. It removes Mikey’s sole pillar of strength right before the Tenjiku clash. It also leaves Mikey emotionally distraught and lacking guidance, forcing him to turn to his brother, Izana, for consolation.
Most importantly, Emma’s murder was a strategic play by Kisaki to position himself in Mikey’s inner circle during his vulnerable state.
The loss of Emma is yet another tragedy for Mikey, furthering his inability to protect his loved ones. This will certainly fuel Mikey’s rage and motivation for revenge against both Kisaki and the impending Tenjiku threat. The episode ends on an emotional cliffhanger for Mikey that is likely to have explosive ramifications.
The latest episode uncovered Emma’s history and how her relationship with Manjiro Sano led him to adopt the name Mikey. We also learn about seeds of jealousy planted in Mikey when Inui chose Takemichi over him to lead the Black Dragons.
As tensions brew between Toman and rival Tenjiku, Mikey catches wind of Mucho defecting. Recognizing the impending threat, Mikey begins rallying Toman members to prepare to defend themselves.
However, on the eve of their clash with Tenjiku, tragedy strikes when Kisaki murders Emma. His sinister plan is to remove Mikey’s emotional pillar so he will turn to Izana for support instead. Kisaki aims to manipulate the grieving Mikey to gain control over Toman.
Emma’s loss represents another failure for Mikey to protect someone close, further fueling his inner demons. Kisaki continues plotting to seize power amidst the fallout from Emma’s death and the looming conflict between Toman and Tenjiku.
Spoilers and Expectations
The upcoming episode 6 will deal with the aftermath of Emma’s shocking murder. Draken and the other Toman members are likely to learn about her tragic death.
With both their President Mikey and Vice President Draken emotionally compromised, Toman may be forced to withdraw from the impending fight against Tenjiku. Their forces are heavily hampered.
However, Takemichi is determined to confront Tenjiku, even if he has to do it alone without Toman’s support. But his close friends like Draken would not allow Takemichi to go into such a dangerous battle solo.
There remains uncertainty if Toman can regroup in time for the clash with Tenjiku. Mikey and Draken’s emotional states and next moves will be pivotal. The loss of Emma may prove too much for Toman to overcome.
